System directs you to the system settings screen then a black screen appears with the following message: reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key
If you have an external drive connected to your computer, check in CMOS or BIOS settings. Your hard drive should always be at the first list of bootable devices.
If you still receive the same boot up problem, try to boot with your Windows installation CD. Go to Recovery Console and in the command prompt, type:
fixboot (then press enter)
fixmbr (then press enter)
bootcfg /rebuild (then press enter)
