I assume this is about a digital camera, not a film camera. Also, since you neglected to specify the make and model of your camera, I'm assuming it uses a memory card of some type.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.
To arrange the pictuers in the order the picture was taken, please follow the below
1. Open the pictures folder
2. right click in the blank area on the window.
3. Chose the option "Arrange Icons By"
4. Select the option "Picture Taken On"
This should resolve the issue, please let me know in case you face any issues
Look in the Setup menu and see whether there's a "Backup" or "Copy" entry. If so, use it to copy the pictures from the internal memory to the memory stick.
Alternatively, you can connect the camera to your computer with the supplied cable and transfer the pictures that way.
Turning the date stamp off will only work for future pictures you take...The only way to remove the date on the pictures you have already taken is to do a crop or photshop the area...
Highly recommend that you consider using a card reader to download you pictures. You insert the camera's memory card into the reader, and then insert the reader into a USB port on your computer. The card then shows up as a hard drive so that you can simply copy/paste or drag your picture files onto your computer. Card readers are much more faster in downloading pics, do not require the use of your camera's batteries, and provide much more reliable downloading of the pictures (fewer errors). They're also VERY inexpensive these days. Here are some examples from Amazon:
Hi Try taking the pictures off the card, by copying onto your computer first. Then put the card back into the camera and delete the pictures and try again. Not sure, but sounds like the card could be full. Or alternatively use another card that does not have any pictures on it, if you have a spare one.
