TUMBLE DRIER STOPPED HEATING

Gas dryer?

If so, probably bad gas solenoid valves. They can safely be replaced without fear of releasing gas. Two phillips screws, two pull off wire plugs. That's it. Cost about $30 bucks depending on where you buy them. They are a universal part and will fit 99.9% of machines.

Is there a reset for the heat function

Below is a ''copy and paste'' of an answer I gave someone else:
------------------------------>>>
If it is a gas dryer, there are two (round black colored) solenoid switches that control the gas flow. They go bad frequently, (and even more frequently when you buy cheap Chinese replacements). Replacing them is _very_ easy, and there is no danger of releasing gas while replacing them. (''Gas Control Solenoids''). The ''click'' you hear is the thermostat ''calling for'' the solenoids to turn on... the actual ''click'' is the ''igniter'' that would ignite the gas which is supplied by those solenoids. // Note: This problem usually shows itself with the dryer repeatedly re-igniting the gas during drying (i.e. ''lots of that ''clicking'' noise). Then, finally the solenoids die altogether and it never ignites even once. // In my opinion, this is the most common GAS dryer repair, and the easiest to repair. Each solenoid ''slides'' onto a post, and is removed the same way. // WARNING: the solenoid posts are a part of the ''GAS VALVE''. DO NOT remove any screws from the ''GAS VALVE''. ONLY remove the screw(s) on the bracket _above_ the solenoids (which is holding them in place). Once the ''hold-down'' bracket screws (sometimes just a ''hold-down'' screw... no ''bracket'' per say) are removed, the solenoids will pull right off of the posts, and replaced the same way. Just make sure you position them the same way; (i.e. ''make sure the connector for the wires are facing the same way as original''). // Ps... The full retail cost of a set of two is about $20 bucks, and as little as $5 bucks for the cheap Chinese replacements. Note: These _cannot_ ''leak'' gas. They work magnetically. They either work or they don't, but they do NOT ''leak gas'', including during removal. Just don't remove screws from the ''gas valve'' as I explained above.

Maytag atlantis gas dyer not heating

Can you look inside the door for your model number. I believe the problem is either a defective igniter or defective solenoid coils that open the gas valves=> 279834 Gas Valve Solenoid Set

GE Dryer Model #DWSR483EB2WW Dryer tumbles,

Does it get hot when you start the dryer, and never gets hot again when its running? The solenoid wire might be opening due to heat, the solenoid is responsible for opening the gas valve, and booster valve. The wire is located in a round plastic sleeve with two electrical contacts sticking out.

Tumbling fine no hot air. is a gas dryer

First, check that the ignitor is working properly. It should glow visibly if it is working. If the ignitor seems to be functioning properly, then I would suspect the gas valve coils. These electrical coils are right above the gas valves and when these solenoids are energized they open the gas valves and permit the burner to light. If they are faulty, the gas valves don't open so no gas gets to the burner. Due to the difficulty in testing these solenoids, it is recommended that both (all) be replaced at the same time if any are suspected of being faulty. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Maytag dryer MDG5500AWW will not heat. Tumbles but no heat.

Could be any number of things .. igniter ( which lights the fire that dries your clothes) over-temp switches ( that disable the gas valve from opening and won't let a fire get started..) Defective gas valve.. not opening to let gas in for the fire that dries our clothes..
Those are the main components in your system and not much more I can provide to you unless I had specific details on what you've checked etc.. maybe this link will help identify the parts associated with your dryer... and if your so inclined..can do your own diagnostics... http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php Hope that helps...
