Question about Bosch Axxis WTL 5410 Electric Dryer

Groaning sounds when dryer spins

When I turn my dryer on, it starts and will spin but makes horrible sounds every time if goes around. If I turn it off and then manually spin the insides in either direction, it makes the same sound. It seems like the sound is coming from the inside back of the dryer but I'm not sure.

Inglis dryer making thumping sound when drying

is the unit level, open the dryer try moving the drum around, see if the drum loose, there mite something in the machine that got caught on the drum some how and when it goes around it bangs,
you mite try spinning the dryer without turning it on and listen to the drum and see if you can hear any thing hitting the drum or what is make those load sounds. if you cannot turn the drum manually you mite bribe a guy or friend to check it out for a beer or glass of wine, and if they down drink bake some cookies.

When hit the start button makes niose but wont spin. took top off and belt isnt broken, when try to help it spin it wants to spin but cant.

Hi- Yeah, sounds like your motor is shot, the start winding is bad. Sometimes you can "jump start" them but usually it doesn't last. If this is an older unit I would just replace the dryer, dryers are pretty cheap right not and the cost of the new motor is around $125 plus an hour of labor. Usually not worth it. Good luck.

Our dryer has a terrible squeak. We replaced the

The terrible squeak is probably the idler pulley shaft spalling in the idle pulley mount. When the idler pulley siezes to to pulley shaft it spins in the mount and makes a horrible racket.

It can be the motor bearings also but I doubt it at this time. With the belt off you can spin the motor and listen for any odd sound. If you hear nothing then the problem is definately the idler pulley assy.

It is normal for the drum to float in place. When there is a problem with the drum or drum felts, you usually hear a cyclic scrape or grinding sound that is concurrent with each rotation of the drum.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Drum spins without a load but won't witha load

It sounds like a motor problem. It puts the motor under maximum load, when dryer is full and just trying to begin to spin.
There are 2 different types of motors, those with capacitor start and those with inbuilt centrifugal switch.
What is your make and model of dryer please? Or if you take off the back panel, can you see a small plastic cylinder, about 2 inches long, with 2 wires to it? Will be mounted close to the motor, but seperate from it.
If it has one, try replacing the capacitor. ( I have about half dozen good secondhand ones lying around at my place (Brisbane))
Good luck, let me know how it goes.

Won't spin

Hi welcome to Fixya

You must pop off the top of the dryer then remove the front after the front is off you can remove drum .
The belt goes around the drum and the motor pully and under the tentioner wheel after you get belt on replace front and top.

Thank You For Useing Fixya

Dryer making funny noise

If your dryer is old, your probably right. Your drum rolls on 3 rollers and they tend to get "out of round" after years of use. If you want to change them, you will have to remove the drum from the front of the dryer (after removing the door) and they will be attached to the rear wall. Good luck. Your fix it cost is around....$50.

Dryer quit, makes groaning sound when you push start button and

The motor bearings are probably shot. You can try to get it going by oiling the motor but you will have to make some holes. The cotton wells are sealed around the bearings. I use a 1/8th inch drill bit being careful not to hit the shaft. I refill the cotten wells with a high temp resistant oil that does not evaporate and is used for HVAC applications. It is called zoomspout oil. $2 at any ace hardware store. After oiling the motor you must work it free till it spins nicely on its own. Then oil the rollers and idler. Wiith any luck you will save some money. Here is a site that tells how to access dryer and a whole lot more.

1999 maytag intellidry gas dryer

The groaning sound seems as if the belt is broaken and the motor is trying to spin a little too fast because it doesn't have a load on it. Take a look to see if the belt is broken and if so, you can purchase a replacement belt at Lowes for approximately $7.00.
