Question about Samsung Syncmaster 275T Monitor

1 Answer

Screen turns on for a second then flashes off. Just saw a post that said this could be a capacitor problem. The Monitor is the 225bw not the 275t

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswillblow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitorsoverheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. You should find 5 bad capacitors. If you can take a picture or two of your board and email them to me I can tell you what to replace. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and- connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new onethe same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Samsung syncmaster 275t won't start - what to do?

The Samsung monitor is okay, the problem is a compatability issue between the laptop and monitor. The VGA toDVI is the problem you are converting a analog signal to digital, the signal level degrades when that is attempted. If I understand this the laptop puts out the analog signal "VGA" and the monitor has the DVI input, "digital" The only other suggestion is turn off the laptop screen to see if the monitor will work.

Blank lcd screen when turned on . Wonder if backlight problem

Hello,

A blank screen is usually caused by the power supply not giving the right voltages to the back light inverter, the bulbs last a lot longer than the power supply board. If you can do a little soldering then you should be able to do the repair yourself. Here is a link to a repair guide that shows how to dis-assemble the unit and get to the power supply board. There are 5 capacitors that will need to be changed and in most cases this will fix the type of issues you are having with this monitor.

My samsung 225BW only shows for one second after i open my computer. What should i do? Also if i turn the moniter off and on it will show for one second and disappear. What should i do? Thanks

It probably has bad DC filter caps just like the rest of failed SAMSUNG monitor as shown in my albums, that will be the first thing to look for.

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Samsung 225bw display with NO VIDEO and flashing power button

Hello,

A flashing power light and no picture is a sure indication of a shorted power supply board. There are parts called capacitors that fail and this causes the power supply to continuously shut down and restart over and over, hence the power light flashing. If you can do a little soldering then you can repair the unit. Here is a link to a service guide showing how to dis-assemble the monitor and repair the power supply board.

Steve from Monitor Technology. You need to open the monitor and locate the inverter board.
Remove 3 screws,turn the board over and locate 2 caps,C110 and C111.Replace,820UF/35V
this will fix this problem.
