If you don't have the wep key but do have the login to get into the router you can go to the wireless page to get the wep key. you go to the wireless setup on the left then select the setup tab on the top and there you will find the wep key. If you do not have the password for the login for the router then the only way to get back into the router is to reset the entire router and start again. this is done by putting a paperclip in the small back hole in the back of the router and press and hold for 10 seconds. this will reset the router to its default factory settings. then you can login with the blank userid and password of admin. you will need to resetup your wireless network.

Help me secure my router. D-Link wbr 1310

You can secure your wireless network wit WEP or WAP code.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1
For belkin router http://192.168.15.1
or
http://192.168.2.1

If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Click on wireless settings then enable WEP Security then add WEP code .It is your password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router.
Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Forgot D-Link 1310 wireless password - how do I retrieve it

What password? Are you referring to the WEP or WPA-PSK password? If yes, I would like to inform you that no one could give you the exact WEP or WPA key. Even if you check the utility of the router.

What you need to do is to reset the router to factory default and then reconfigure the router. That's the only way that you could do in order to set a new password.

Have a good evening!

I have installed wbr-1310 to main puter but cannot install on lap

Make sure the wireless capabilities are turned on on your router.
On your computer scan for available networks and it should detect the router.
Once detected it will ask you for the Passkey/WEP/Secutity Key.
You should have a note of this when you originally set up your wireless connection.
If not then your computer network set up wizard may 'kick in' and just follow the instruction.
Remember to keep a note of your PASSKey/WEP as you will require it in future

Good luck

My bf's Mac desktop and my PC laptop will not work at the same time after I set up a WEP or WPA-2 key on our DLINK WBR-1310 router. What do I need to do?

I would have the router make a new key and then try that in both machines, if that does not help, then I would reset the router to factory and start over again.
