Question about Samsung SGH-E370 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Phone Problems Every time I switch my phone off, or it runs out of battery, and I then switch it back on, my phone muddles up my text messages. It happens with messages more than 1 text long, and crosses them over with older messages, so they no longer make sense. This is really annoying and I have tried to speak to Virgin about it, to see if it is a problem with the phone or the SIM, but they've been useless.Any ideas?

Re: Phone Problems

You have to get a NEW SIM or try cleaning it with a dry cloth!

Phone Cannot Send or Receive Calls and Text Messages: A Simple Electronic Glitch

It is frustrating when only your phone cannot send text messages no matter how strong the network signal is. Sometimes you feel nobody cares about or remembers you because nobody calls or texts you but actually there are. Your phone just can't be reached or can't receive text messages. When these happen, turn off the phone; remove the battery and then the SIM card. Insert the SIM card to another phone and try sending text messages; if you still cannot send text messages, remove the SIM card and let it sit off the phone for at least fifteen minutes then insert it gain. You should be able to send text messages after that, but make sure you have credits.

The next thing you should look into is the phone. Make sure network signal is present then insert a known good SIM card in your phone and try sending text messages. Reset the phone if you still cannot send text messages, but back up important files and data, such as contacts, videos, images, and messages, before doing so.

One simple way to "reset" the phone is by removing the battery and letting it sit for at least fifteen minutes. Another way is by restoring the phone settings to factory settings. Simply navigate to settings then phone settings and select "restore to full factory settings" depending on the brand and model of the phone.

This tip is not intended to solve virus or firmware problems but rather to avoid unnecessary visit to the service center and save few bucks from a problem only caused by a simple electronic glitch. Check the network signal strength and your credits before jumping into any conclusion.

Im having problems with people not receiving my texts messages. its not happing all the time but enough what could be the problem?

It is usually due to the tower that your connected to.

Power cycle your phone daily

To do this:
Pull out battery
Hit power button repeatedly for 20 seconds
Keep battery out for an additional 40 seconds
Replace battery
Power phone back on

This will cause your phone to re establish a link to the nearest tower.

I have a samsung mobile (touch screen) and when i clicked the message icon it shows initializing but the message box did not open. What should be the problem and how can i solve this. Thanks Satyan

I' deleted all text messages. Now get "messaging initilizing" every time I try to create a new text message. Switching off and on again doesn't help. Neither does removing battery and sim card.

Recieving text messages

Usually the messages are stored in databases with your service provider and it will come through according to date/time.
If you believe you are missing a few texts and you'd like to make sure that you dont then what you could simply do is send yourself a text from your mobile and it should bounce back, pushing forward all the texts that are still in the database.
It may seem costly, but it might be an urgent/unexpected text.

Text messages not always sending on first attempt

this could be the network, but if your battery is curiously running out quickly it might be a eternal problem with the eternal antenna, though that desnt really explain the battery. I am not sure about that. Unless your battery is nearing the end of its life. haha but that really could be the problem. You might need a totally new phone or just a new battery

Unable to format my nokia 6288

Fully charge the battery, then power the phone on while it's still plugged in to the charger. Now you should be able to power the phone on and delete all those messages.

Text/Voice Messages

I had the same problem. If you go to your message settings and select GPRS, change it to ON then to OFF. Then turn your phone off for a few mins then back on. You should receive all of your messages and all of your sent ones will go through. I have had to do this a couple of times, but it does fix it for quite a while. It is a know problem with the V3. Hope this helps. :-)
