Battery good , cables and connections ? Voltage drop test starting circuit . Find a wiring diagram at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Your vehicle has no relay ! Try wiggling the gear selector from park to neutral . Check B+ voltage at the park neutral safety switch . When you turn key to start B+ voltage goes to the neutral safety switch , if switch is good ,B+ voltage goes through the switch if in park or neutral to the solenoid on the starter . IF all is good starter energizes and spins the engine over . Starter Voltage Drop If you can't fix it with this info , your best bet have it towed to a qualified repair shop .

SOURCE: 1988 Doge Ram will not turn over.

check your starter relay in the power distribution center. if you are not getting any crank. with a test light or dvom you can check the small signal wire on your starter solenoid when the key is in the crank position there should be power on this wire. it sounds like you are not getting signal to the starter from the ignition switch

SOURCE: have power but when i turn key i get nothing. no click,no starter???

I had a similiar problem, I had a bad sensor at the back of the engine, it was connected by 2 hoses to the EGR pick up tube.
I unplugged the sensor and the car started, I drove it to the parts store and replaced the part and it ran great after.

SOURCE: turn the ignition key and nothing happens. turn it

when it won't start, use a test light on the solenoid wire (the small gauge wire) in the start position, you should have voltage. Also check your shift linkage to make sure the shift cable isn't keeping it from going into park position. try it in neutral position as well... that's a clue to a trans selector switch

SOURCE: When I turn the key in the ignition, nothing

It could be a bad ignition switch, do you have instrument panel warning lights when you try to start it?

VW Golf Chico 2000 model, The ignition on my car seems to not make contact or something as when I turn the key nothing happens except a small whirring sound. When I do a push start its fine.

Two possible issues.
Starter relay (what puts power to your starter when you turn the key) or
Your starter is bad.
I would start with the starter relay because it is cheap and easy to replace.
The whirring sound could be your fuel pump or the starter turning but not connecting to the engine to turn it over. Depends on how loud the whirring is...

Good luck.

My 2009 Pontiac torrent will not start after it sits for 2 days! So we bought a new Battery and it still does the same thing after it sits for 2 days

When you say it doesn't start, does that mean the engine cranks when you turn the key but won't fire, or absolutely nothing happens when you turn the key on? Does anything electrical work; headlights, horn, dash lights, radio?

It sounds like the ignition lock cylinder has worn out. This is the part you put the key into. It has tumblers that can wear out and when this happens, the key no longer pushes the tumblers in the correct sequence or position to allow the cylinder to turn at all.

Hope this helps!
