Ge pvm2070smss shuts down
It may be a noisy magnetron if the failure occurs in a second or two of hitting "Start" to begin cooking.

See this FixYa solution. even though your model number is different.

Otherwise, if the internal cooling fan is not running when you are cooking, it will shut down after 30-60 seconds or so and stay off until it cools back down.

Microwave made a loud grinding noise while heating a cup of coffee for 1 minute,now everything is shut off. We checked the curcit breakers all ok, and there is power going to it!

When you press start the microwave starts with a low hum and sounds like a bearing or fan is vibrating, micrwave still heats up and works just runs rough. Bruce
Ther is a loose peace of metal in the magnetron, it is not a big worry, it's just noisy, i have a noisy microwave and it is working fine for 10 years now, if you use the defrosting mode you should hear the noise (on and off) because in the defrost mode the magnetron energises on and off, it could be the cabinet vibrating as well look for loose peaces of metal

Noisy microwave not cooking
Is it making a louder than usual; buzz or hum when you try to cook?

If so, I would suspect a shorted high voltage diode ore a bad magnetron.
