How to change cord victa corvette 160cc 2stroke electronic ignition

On assuming its fitted with a victa 2 stroke engine in which case unscrew the 3 cross head screws on the top plastic cover and remove it. You should then see the top of the engine and the recoil starter. Undo and remove the 3 bolts holding the starter to the engine. Remove the starter housing gently as there will be a large o ring under the stater. Once the starter is off you can undo the centre bolt and remove the recoil pulley and spring. When refitting starter smear a little oil on the large o ring to stop it from being damaged

Winder not going back in

Hi pete are you talking about the starter cord or the cutting cord. If it's the starter try and put some lube spray where the spring for the starter is and it should free up. If it's the cutting cord then you have wound it on wrong or not tight enough. Start it again and if this doesn't help let me know via the reply section

How do i replace the starter cord on a victa commando lawn mower

Remove the recoil assembly from the mower, there are 3 machine screws.
Remove the old rope and get matching cord, make sure you get the correct diameter, usually 3/16 or 1/4 inch, and type, I believe it should be nylon braided. Do not cut the new cord.
Use a match to light the end of the cord and once it ignites, use an old rag to pull and form the end into a point.
Notice which way the pulley in the starter assembly rotates and hand spin it in that direction until it is fairly tight. Once it is tight, rotate it into a position such that you can push the pointed end of the cord from the outside into the hole in the housing of the starter and directly into the hole on the inner pulley. Tie a tight knot in the end of the rope inside the pulley.
Remove the clamp and let the rope get rewound on the pulley. Cut the cord, point this end and run it into the handle and knot it.

It may not be the same on your machine, but most are like this.

I pulled the pull cord right out of it s hole. So I unscrewed all of the screws to fix it but i cant unscrewed the fans screw ????

There should be no need to remove the flywheel (fans?) to repair the starter cord. The starter mechanism should have come free of the left side housing so that everything you need to deal with is in that package. Did the cord break, or just pulled the cord free of the spool inside? If the cord broke, then buy a replacement cord (about 1-meter in length) of the same size and material (no cotton cord). Thread the cord into the spool center where there is a hole for the inside part of the cord and bring the end out of the hole. Melt the cord end, and then tie an overhand knot in the cord. Pull the knot back tight and proceed to wind the cord in a CCW direction around the spool until you have about most of it wound. Pull on the cord to wind the internal spring several turns and wedge the spool so that it won't unwind the spring. Wind the balance of the cord until you have about 8" left--feed that end through the outer hole and into the handle. Melt the cord end, then tie an overhand knot in it. Stuff the knot into the handle cavity and remove the spool wedge. Try the cord several times to make sure the spring pulls it back firmly and allows ample cord pull-out. Hope this helps!

you need to change the big main jet. the stock size will be stamped on the jet. Go for one or two sizes bigger. Your motorcycle shop dealer will help you out when you buy the jets.

Recoil starter

If the end of the cord won't hold a knot to keep it in the reel, try melting the very end of the cord with a match to form a small lump. If the cord is too short so that you are coming out to the end before getting a good run-up in the starter, replace the cord with a longer piece (obtainable from any servicing dealer). Buy the same diameter of cord. Hope this helps!

How to replace starter cord on a victa corvette 400 series mower, cord snapped,i put it back on....now it doesnt retract properly when trying to start it

Not sure what engine that machine uses but they are all similar, you need to prewind the reel before you slip the rope thru the hole, let the spring/reel pull the rope in.
