Don't get it. Please explain. It's not the charger that's the problem the game doesn't work with AA batteries either.

What kind of charger does this Kodak Dashboard CW330 take?

The original battery pack is nothing but 2 AA batteries held together with a plastic holder, you can use regular AA rechargeable batteries and save some money. I had a similar camera with the original battery pack held together with some plastic holder, I simply substituted that battery pack with 2 regular rechargeable common batteries and camera works the same.

I need a battery charger for my monster!! fisher price/ mattel site no longer sells it!!

Remove the battery pack from his foot (a screw holds the door shut).
The back has a wire which you disconnect then from the toy -
(its a shrink wrapped collection of normal rechargeable AA batteries) but don't open the pack. The voltage of the charger you need depends on how many AA batteries are in the pack.

Bring this battery pack a shop that does Radio control Cars or Boats - a hobby shop - and they should be able match up a charger to the battery pack you have.

These kind of chargers are shared between lots of toys - connectors are usually the same.

You could also get one that matched on ebay.

My game only works when on charge. When the charger is pulled out the games turns off. When on the charger base there is a constant blinking green light.

  • That blinking green light means the rechargeable batteries are no longer holding a charge which is also why the unit shuts down when the power feed is removed. You just need a new set or rechargeable batteries is all. 4 AA (or LR6 depending where you are)

  • Please note that when the charger rapidly blinks green, in addition to the batteries that are failing, they can overheat and leak. Please, cease to use those batteries and take them to a recycle place before they begin to leak from trying to charge when they are not safe to charge anymore.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Can i charge the camera away from the docking station ?

Yes, assuming you're using rechargeable batteries. If you're using rechargeable AA batteries, they can be recharged using any standard AA charger. If you're using the Kodak Rechargeable Battery Pack, it can be recharged using any of several Kodak chargers.

Leapster L-Max dies after 10 min

A cheaper alternative is to use the rechargeable battery pack.
Regular nicad batteries are not equipped to handle electronics like this.

No, the charger is only usable to charge the rechargeable NiMH or Li-Ion battery which comes with the radio. Attempting to charge Alkaline rechargeable batteries with this charger could cause the to expode. If your charger is not charging the batteries which came with the units, it could be you do not have the charger cord end plugged in all the way, or the batteries dropped below the initial charge level by setting on a store shelf too long. Most TalkAbouts come with a cradle style charger to hold the radio, and a possible plug to plug into the charge hole. Check all connections, and clean any battery/charger contacts with a pencil eraser. To re-initialize the batteries you would need to attempt 3-5 charge cycles by charging for 8-10 hours, then letting the battery rest for 8-10 hours, repeating 3-5 times as needed. If this does not bring the battery back to life, you need to replace the batteries.

Leapster not powering on

I have never used the Leapster before, But I researched it a bit and discovered that it uses "AA" Batteries. Were the rechargeable batteries you used before designed for the Leapster or were they older Ni-Cad (Nickel Cadmium) style batteries? Older Ni-Cads put out a slightly higher voltage than standard (1.7v) as opposed to the standard 1.5v. This could possibly cause problems. If you have only had it for a few months than it should be warranty protected. Hope this helps. Cheers!
