Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

2 Answers

I am getting unexpected uniform marks on the printout from my Epson Aculaser 2600N. This is always on the printed side and looks like a double tilde about 4" apart appearing down the centre of the page. I am also getting occasional 'ghosting' of the previous page printed on some pages(Feint repetition of the previous page's contents down the left side of the page under the new page's content.) I have just replaced the photoconductor with a new one and have cleaned the photoconductor and the exposure using the pull out cleaner wires 'A' & 'B' but this has not corrected the problem. The fuser lever is in the correct position and none of the print smudges. The unexpected marks sometimes appear black and sometimes colour. The marks are identical in each case and always appear in the same place on an A4 sheet.

Thank you for your prompt reply, but......

The Epson Aculaser 2600 self-calibrates each time it is switched on.
There is no maintenance programme to run.
I have searched the web, but cannot find any reference to a toner cleaning kit for this model.

I have run into similar. If it has a rear sponge roller it probably needs to be replaced. It builds up with ink/toner,whatever & they're pretty much impossible to clean. I tried rubbing alcohol pads & it got better but on the one I have now,it needs the rear sponge roller. Unfortunately, they don't make mine anymore & it's like finding a needle in a hay stack. Now as far as the tilde thing, that could be something else but I think you'll find a new roller will end that. Printers are difficult to take apart & I don't even try half the time. Lotsa small springs & they don't like to come apart. Not to mention to get to that roller is a nightmare on most. Usually looks real easy, like 2 screws but once you go in,there's no turning back & by the time you're done you'ld wish you never went there, lol. Hope this advice helps.

Adjust the ink alignment, run a maintenance program if you have one available. You can also purchase a toner cleaning kit which I recommend.

Black streaks down left side of printouts Epson Aculaser C2600

I had exactly the same problem. Luckily we have 3 of these printers. Swapped the photoconductor and it solved the vertical streaking, even though the photoconductor was only half way through its life.

Epson CX11NF printer problem-repair solved

To clear stripe....Open the front cover and look on the inside of the right side of the printer....There you will see a pictorial instruction showing the PRINTER HEAD cleaning procedures.

Follow them (remove tab/plug on right side, pull out on head lock arm on inside right, then fully pull out the printer head arm inside the port on the (outside of printer) right side.....Then push it back in, replace tab cover, push the lock back in (inside right-front) and problem solved.....

God Bless,

Happy Epson CX11NF User

Epson C1900 "ghost " images

Sounds like the transfer roller or the fuser unit may be faulty. Look at the fuser to see if the roller surfaces are dirty. If so, replace the fuser.

Light stripe down right side of colour print out

I had the same problem and managed to clear it by cleaning the print head. You can fiind instructions on how to do this in the pdf manual on the Epson web site at ftp://download.epson-europe.com/pub/download/314/epson31436eu.pdf - go to page 351 and it should get you through it OK.

Poor printout / colors dont look exactly as they are supposed to

Some of these problems are addressed in the Service Manual p242 onwards with illustrations and correction procedure. You may have to talk it through with EPSON technical support/or obtain a technicians support. What is shown does not exactly fit your description so here's hoping.

Printing problems

According to the manual, "If there are white vertical lines on your printout, you will need to clean the print head."

I had that problem and cleaning the print head solved it.

Epson Aculaser C1100 - misaligned printing

Your application will actually override the settings of the printer, what i can suggest is for you to check if you are using the correct page length and margin setting in your software program.

Try using Laserjet 3 emulation driver as well

Epson al cx11nf print problems: Lines on side of output

This could be caused by a dirty lens on the laser unit. Try cleaning the laser window. Open the front panel (where you change the toner) and the right you will see a blue lever/handle - pull it out towards you. Now on the right side panel of the printer you will notice a little plastic panel about 2"x0.75" - open that and you will see inside another handle. Pull this handle out and back in a few times. This draws a cleaner pad across the lens. If toner has fallen onto the lens it makes the are it has fallen onto create blank lines on the print. If this does not solve your issue then the next suspect would be the PCU. Just get another one (same as C1100 if you can borrow one) and try it.
