Question about D-Link AirPlus DI-524 Wireless Router

Lose connection when laptop comes online

I lose connection (almost every time) I turn my laptop on, Internet then works on laptop but not my stationery computer. If I restart router it usually works on both computers.

It may be the same thing that make both my computers lose connection when my friend bring a MAC and connect to my network.

I would be very happy for any help.

Update the latest firmware in the router and then reset and reconfig your router that will fix your problem.and check check if you have any other wireless device operating in the same frequency of the router.. if yes turn it off nad then observe the connection..check it uot and revert back in case of any further issues

if you're online and loses connection every couple of minutes, that most likely be and issue with you ISP. it's intermittent connection issue with the server or might be the modem if it's more than a year.. better is to contact your ISP to check on their end, also to create a work order to investigate and monitor the issue.

Loses connection w. remote computer I have a laptop one room away. The laptop accesses the internet and printers from this location. Most of the time it works. However, it will suddently lose the conection...

Check if this router is stronng enough interms of it signals. Check on the laptop the signal strength of the conenction.

If the signal strength is poor you can either move closer to the wireless router or vice versa or can get an access poitn to boost the signal.

Please rate if helpful.

Need code for wireless connection

Right - this is how wireless works. You lose connection and the pc has to 'find' a new connection each time.

Belkin Nimo wireless router internet drop outs

There are a few things that can cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.
1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move the wireless router away from walls and if possible locate the wireless router higher up.
2. Have you secured your wireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? Ie. change the default password, setup encryption use WAP2 or WAP, change the default SSID, and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC address filtering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s to connect to your wireless router.
3. You could be getting interference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, ard welders, washing machines etc. If so the power supply to the wireless routers and computers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, better still connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) .
4. Check the channels of the wireless routers and access points in your area and and change the broadcast channel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize the interference with your wireless router from the wireless routers and access points in your area.

Losing connection from the router

You may have an IP address conflict with another machine. why don't you just plug the router into the computer to see if that solves your problem first. If it doesn't. you should contact your internet carrier. You can also try this: turn everything off, and unplug EVERYTHING for a few minutes. Plug the AC adapters back into the devices FIRST, then into the wall. this will often drain power and solve IP issues.

Losing internet connection when I try to connect laptop to wireless router

Your cloning the mac address - thats the problem. It should use it's own mac address to connect to the modem. You need to power down the modem, then repower after a minute or so to let it connect to the new mac address. The problem you are seeing is due to network collisions betweenj the desktop and the router with the modem.
