Why would you send a Canon Camera to Minolta? It may still cost the same but the right company should be the repairer

I cant find the correct size film for this camera i bought it at a yard sale

The Konica Minolta Maxxum QTsi is a nice SLR camera that can accept a wide range of 35mm films. You can buy 35mm films from Kodak, Fujifilm and many other companies.

I just bought a Minolta maxxum QTsi from a lady and it had no manual with it, I can't figure out how to load the film. Can you take me step by step on how to load the film and how the camera works when...

Hi, I've found the instruction manual online for you, http://www.mediacollege.com/equipment/manual/konica-minolta/camera/maxxum-qtsi.pdf that way you have it for future reference. For loading film you open up the back of the camera and make sure that the end of the roll of film is aligned with a red mark and then you close the back. For taking pictures you press the shutter button half way in order for it to focus, when the image you want is framed you press the shutter button the entire way and it'll take the photo.

I keep trying to load film and when i close the camera it sounds as if its loading but the number stays at 0

OK, so we know that the film transport motor is not dead. That's a good thing.
When I have that problem with my HTsi or XTsi, I try several ways of placing the film leader on the take-up roller. Also be sure that the take-up roller is clean or it will not grab the film. I also have a TEST roll. I put it in cameras to be sure its grabbing film.
RARE, but it can happen...film can refuse to come out of the canister. Take it into a room tonight, turn out the light so you do not expose the film, and try pulling the film out. Use the knob to rewind it before you turn on the light.
Meantime, try another film roll
NOT likely, but possible - Film advance motor running but take-up spool not turning. This means a trip to repair shop. Since the QTsi/STsi/HTsi and XTsi are not that expensive on Ebay these days, get one as a parts donor/ spare camera. The other models will give you more choices. HTsi and XTsi have 3 AF sensors.

I dont kno how to tell my Minolta Maxxum QTsi with 35-80 lens 35mm Film camera what tpye of film i have when its in the camera

hi there
your camera auto detects the type of film by reading the black squares on the side of the film case.
the camera then adjusts the settings automatically.

hope this helps

Older equipment on newer equipment

Carry one of your lenses to a camera store and ask them to let you compair it with one for a Maxxum.

The Sony Alpha / Konica / Minolta mount is called a TYPE A bayonette mount. google the Maxxum and see if it accepts the TYPE A mount.

Loaded film wrong??

I'm assuming you're not able to shoot pics. Its my best guess that the film just isn't getting loaded properly. Next time you attempt to load film there maybe a small red mark near the take spool (bottom edge where film goes) to indicate how far you need to pull the leader forward toward take up spool. I think the film isn't out quite far enough for the camera to do its auto load thing & when you close the back it goes thru its auto loading motions but the film just isn't getting loaded. Then close back & see what happens.
