Code p 2238 refers to heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) 1 bank 1 positive current control --circuit low===causes --wiring short to ground --HO2S
also refers to oxygen sensor (O2) 1 bank 1 -positive current control --circuit ;ow==causes --wiring short to ground ---O2S
also refers to heated oxygen sensor 1 bank 1 ---implausible signal===causes --wiring short to positive, short to ground --HO2S---ECM
at this point I suggest changing the heated oxygen sensor in bank 1 exhaust before the cat converter using the specialist tool as the sensor wires are delicate and subject to easy damage

2007 murano runs rough at cold start then runs fine

misfire can be from plugs and also from injectors. It it is fine when it warms up I would be looking at injector tip problems from the cold.

92 Camero SOMETIMES wont start, backfires or starts rough - but will run fine after it DOES start

I would want to know if it is ignition or fuel for sure. There are a few things you can try to narrow down the possible cause.
What does the cap and rotor look like, and is the spark a strong blue when it is running rough ?
Have you checked the actual fuel pressure with a gauge ? Does it matter if you spray carb cleaner or starting fluid into the throttle body ?
Any trouble codes stored in the computer ?
Its possible the coolant temp sensor is wrong and the computer thinks the air temp is 90 degrees instead of say 20 degrees. Or there is moisture in the dist cap or on the plug wires, and so on.

1989 ford escort turns over but wont start

if all you did was this...and and put a new battery in and still wont start...if you have went thru your plugs..wires..distributor..ignition coil...made sure your getting spark..if not..check your relays and fuses..preferebly one that deals with spark and timing for injectors..if everything is fine to that point...then try a crankshaft position sensor...it tells the pcm timing for fuel injectors and fire to the ignition coil...hopefully this helps.

2003 yukon xl turns over fine wont start.

Someone will need to figure out if you are lacking fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs to proceed.
You say the pump is fine, have you checked the fuel pressure, and do you know if the injectors are getting voltage and ground pulse from the computer ?

My 1992 plymouth voyager 3.3sl started lossing pressure while driving and regain pressure afew mints later it will good then repeat. then one day i was driving and it stop driving it would ture over but...

sounds like fuel starvation.
did you run the car to the limit or run out recently?
you may have sucked up dirt from the bottom of the tank which is now blocking your fuel system.

if you crank over for a while and dont smell gas at the exhaust then it could be there is not fuel getting through.

remove the fuel line from the engine and see if fuel pumps out when you turn over engine.

just do a short turnover with pipe into a jar or some vessel to catch the gas.

if that is ok, replace pipe, also check fuel filter is not blocked, if one is fitted.

then there maybe a blockage in the carb or injectors remove spark plugs and crank over and see if you can see gas vapour.

warning do not use flame to see as this will cause explosion.

I hope this was useful.

Sounds like it could be. (without checking to see if you have a "pulse" at the injectors) You can usully hear a difference in the way it turns over with a cam belt issue.

My 1989 Pontiac Trans Am has a 305 Tune Port Injection engine that won't start. There is spark in all electrical components, fuel pressure but still won't start. We have replaced the computer and still...

Come to find out after spending $560.00 on electric parts that were not needed, the number 5 fuel injector was shorting out causing the engine not to start. It would turn over but wouldn't catch. I unplugged the injector and it started right up. I let it run for a bit and while running, plugged it back in and sure enough, the engine stalled. This particular engine had us going crazy. We thought if an injector went bad at least have the engine would run. Apparently this one has a safety mechanism on it so half the engine won't warp for working while the other half don't. The injector will be replaced very soon and will be back in perfect running condition.
