Unless the printer has it's own menu to allow you to do this the print size should be adjusted at the source of the text you are printing, in the word processor for instance.

Generally a printer will print only the files it is sent in the form they have been sent. If you need the printer to print something different you mostly need to send it something different.
Set up the document you want printed on-screen and use the tools available in the programme you are using to adjust the document until you are satisfied and then send it to the printer.

Thank you for posting your printer problem to FixYa.
  • On the document you want to print.
  • Go to FILE, PRINT (or PRINTER PROPERTIES)
  • The Print Dialog Box will open
  • Click the EFFECTS tab
  • Check the option that says Print document on:
  • Choose the correct paper size from the pull down menu
  • Uncheck the option that says Scale to fit.

After printing a page my printer spits the page out very hard and then the light indicator starts to flash and on my monitor there is a message about paper jam (misfeed)

PLEASE CHECK THE SIZE OF PAPER SELECTED IN SOFTWARE SIDE. THAT MIGHT BE SMALLER THAN PAPER PLACED IN THE DRAY. A PAPER SIZE MISMATCH SHOULD BE CHECKED. SOFTWARE SIDE(COMPUTER SIDE) PAPER SELECTION SHOULD BE SAME AS PAPER IN PRINTER

HP Deskjet 5150 print is too small

Printers try to fit web pages on a single sheet of paper. If you configure the printer, in the print dialog, not to shrink images and text to fit the paper, it will print on multiple sheets of paper, but the correct size for the images and text.

In a Word document, it depends on what font size you have selected. Most people would rather have the web page print on a single sheet, with smaller images and text than were on the monitor; than tape together multiple sheets for 100% size printout.

Error in A3 print

I had the same problem. Didn't find the answer. I removed the HP 1280 driver and installed HP 1220 Driver. It worked. It prints all the sizes perfectly. What is in name if we get the prints on A3 size. whether it is HP 1280 or HP 1220 :)

Change margin hp f340

You can see the Print Preview of the application from where you are trying to print.
you can select the margins and see what is actually going to print. there is nothing to do with your printer. it is the applications on PC where you need to take care of.
