11 HP Honda engine won't start.

I have an 11 HP Honda engine on a tow cart. It has only been used about a dozen times. I've changed out the battery. Engine will not start with the starter or the pull cord - just turns over like no spark - suggestions? Thanks WM

Ypu could try a canned spray called AERO START which is a chloriform based accelerant. Spray into air intake and start engine. If it doesnt start with this solution then there is a serious problem.

Ensure the spark plug is actually sparking .
Remove it from the socket and place near an earthpoint while still connected and turn motor over. If it sparks then tick that box.
Ensure the spark is strong rub sand paper over the element of the plug to make it bright and shiny

check the lead is in good condition replace if nescessary. A bad lead especially carbon fibre crack inside and become leaky causing poor spark or no spark. If this appears OK then tick that box!

Place a spray of Aerostart inside cylinder and replace plug start engine again. if it fails to respond it will need to be seen by a mechanic

With vehicle operating, take it to local auto parts store and have them wheel their diagnostic cart out to vehicle. They will check it complimentary and likely find your issue.

My 2004 Honda Pilot ran fine then a hour later won't start. At first thought battery so we charged up usig one of those chargers you plug in. Lights flicker, and clicking sounds but won't turn

Check batry terminals are secure & free from corosion, check security of earth strap to engine & main power wire on starter, if ok have the batry load tested to ensure it can perform under load as the starter needs a lot of current. Have you tried a jump start?

1986 honda goldwing won't crank

Hi, Anonymous before testing any electrical component in the Starting System it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid, starter have failed or circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

"The yellow 'Alarm' light will not go off after changing cartridges.

Try removing and reinserting the cart. Or try a new cart. It sounds like it's not recognizing that a new cart has been inserted. It could be a faulty/sticky switch where the cart is detected.
