SOURCE: I have a Frigidaire self cleaning electric oven.

I have the same problem. It's happen two times. The first time, it was an unprotected power lug connected to a heating element that makes contact with the metal cover (just under the glass). The breaker tripped and after a careful isolation maintenance it was ok. Last night another f*** spark occurred. This time, the breaker did not trip and the heating element’s warm light are always ON. It’s the same problem on a different position. But it was a thermostatic contact lug shorting whit the f*** metal cover. The main issue is that the glass top is used to maintain isolation gap between power lugs and the casing (grounded). In fact, heating elements are spring loaded to reduce the spacing between glass and elements. If a pressure is made by the counter-top the glass is forced to un-bond (my case) and elements can move, make short-circuit and burn down my house.

Regards,

Dave

Flavel milano e50. Why does everything except the oven work?

Check the circuit breaker for the oven. 220 volts are necessary for the heating element. 110 volts for the light and clock controls. The 220 volt breaker looks like two side by side breakers with their trip levers joined. Sometimes one will trip without tripping the other. Try resetting the breaker or better yet replace it.

Main oven wont come on or the light but the fan does

Hi, I hope I can help you. If you're referring to the overhead fan above the oven, that fac is usually on a separate circuit. The oven itself is connected to a separate circuit breaker, hence, that is why the oven and light won't come on.
Check your circuit breaker box, and see what circuit has tripped. Check to see if there are any burn marks around the breaker before resetting it.
The reason the breakers may trip, is the breaker is old, may have the incorrect rating, or may be linked to other circuits, such that when too many items are all drawing power at once, it will trip the breaker.

Keeps tripping circuit breaker

There must be a fairly major issue with your microwave to trip a 20 amp breaker. I would recommend taking it to your local repair shop or replacing it.

Oven not heating properly

most common problems:
1. calrod unit not working(heating element) easy replacement
2. breaker tripped.(sometimes a double breaker will only trip one of the circuit breakers so you end up with half power)
good luck

Oven heats up but wont get above 160 degrees

I assume you mean it trips the circuit breaker. If the circuit breaker is good, that means the heating coil is bad, and pulling too much electrical current. Sometimes circuit breakers fail, and trip at say 5 amps when rated at 15 amps. Have you electrician switch that breaker with another one and see if there is a difference. If not, it is a bad heating coil.

Lg microwave oven trips circuit breaker

The magnetron probably has a partial short pulling more current than normal as it runs, the other two items that give trouble is the high voltage diode, "sometimes cracks" to the high voltage capacitor, "usually shorts"

My microwave oven keeps tripping the circuit breaker.i replaced the outlet that it plugs into but it still trips it. is there an internal fuse in the oven that may be bad?

If a fuse inside had blown, that would definitely reduce the current flow rather than trip the breaker.
I have replaced several breakers over the years; they no longer last forever.
Try your Amana on a different circuit, not in the kitchen; if that other circuit likes the oven, the breaker is bad. If the alternate circuit breaker also trips, then you have not a blown fuse in the Amana but rather a shorted component inside and repairing the oven will likely cost about the same as replacing it.

Oven won't heat up until circuit breaker is tripped.

This is a very serious hazard if the circuit breaker trips just when the oven begins to heat up. The circuit breaker could have become weakened and needs to be replaced ASAP. Have an electrician check and replace.

The oven could have been placed on too small a circuit breaker OR the total number of appliances on that line has pushed the circuit breaker over it's limit. The Oven draws a huge current and may be the straw that broke the camels back.

Check to see what other appliances are shut down when the breaker trips. See if you can place some or all of these on another line.
Leaving the Oven on the one circuit breaker. This will hopefully prevent the overload situation that is occurring now.

If it still trips... get an electrician in there fast!

Hope this helps!
