Question about HP vs15 15"LCD Flat Panel Monitor
Sometimes the monitor will get a horizontal "darker" band through the middle, darker not black. If I turn it off an on, so far it goes away----Is this normal???? There is also a tiny grey spot on the screen---not black----Is this just a bad pixel? Thank You! Has a grey band permanently across the middle
No, this is not normal. This could be one of two problems. 1) internal connection to the "Y" array is somehow been compromised either through some defect in manufacturing or simply a loose connection. 2) The LCD converter board in the monitor is defective. In either case it's internal to the monitor and would have to be serviced. Have you checked with HP to see if the device is still under warranty? It just might be If not, you can try opening the unit and checking the connection on the left hand side towards the area you mentioned. But beware that the monitor does contain leatal voltages.
