When i put in a game in my ps2 it says reading for a few seconds and then the reading disc sign disappears and the game doesn't turn on. What should i do?

Try playing a movie and make sure the disc is clean, if the PS2 can not read any disc, is because the ps2 need to be serviced, but it might not be worth it.

Will not read the disc

If you used to play those discs before and then suddenly it stops reading, then you might need to clean your lens that reads the disc.

Do you have a cd cleaner? Go and insert it and play for 30 seconds. It this still does not work, you can open your ps2 cover and manually clean the lens with a soft ear bud damped in an alcohol and gently wipe the lens surface. Also if you have a blower, you can blow those dust off.

Playstation 2 won't play DVDs

if it's a fat PS2 and
model SCPH 30001, SCPH 35001
(not including the models with an 'R' after the model #.

these models need the following to play DVDs:
- PS2 DVD remote with IR unit
- PS2 DVD disc player (sold with DVD remote w/ IR unit)
- PS2 memory card

you copied the DVD disc to the memory card. you used the memory card to play DVDs.

later models didn't need the memory card to play DVDs.

hope this helps :D
