I have a Sharp Television LC-43UB30U 4K Ultra that has problems. Can anyone help me determine exactly what component inside the television is bad based on the details of the symptoms?

It has vertical bands on the picture that contain fast moving colorful horizontal lines. It appears as a snowy picture. Sometimes the picture flashes between tinted light and dark colors. Sometimes it has flickering horizontal lines that come and go intermittently. Every once in a while, this problem clears up but then comes back right away. It happens on every input and also causes distortion of the menus also.

Try replacing the tcon board if it has one, if not the main but there is a good chance you have a panel issue, actually the bonding of the tabs going from the panel boards to the panel, if this turns out to be the issue the set won't be repairable

I need to find the manual for the remote Sharp lcdtv gi221-u. I'm trying to watch Netflix on my tv but don't want to lose my place every time I hit a button

I can't find a Sharp gi221-u remote control. Do you mean the Sharp GJ221-U? If so, the directions for using the Sharp GJ221-U remote control will be in the manual for a television that shipped with the remote. In this case, the GJ221-U came with several Sharp TV models, including the LC-43UB30U. The manual for the LC-43UB30U is available here: http://www.sharpusa.com/Support/ProductDetail.aspx?model=LC-43UB30U . The current link to the manual is http://files.sharpusa.com/Downloads/ForHome/HomeEntertainment/LCDTVs/Manuals/LC-65_55_50_43UB30U_UM_English.pdf .

The section on the use of the Netflix button (page 3-7, page 23 of the PDF) is extremely short. It is possible that pressing certain buttons will force the TV to change the current source. That will cause you to lose your place in Netflix, if the program isn't paused first. (I know that I can do this when I watch a program from my DVR and press a channel number button on the remote control.)

I hope this helps.

Sharp Acquos power indicator flashing and won't turn back on

Power indicator blinking is an indication that the protection circuit inside the unit has been activated to prevent further damage. You may need to have the unit checked by qualified technician. Most probable cause is a damage component in the power supply circuit or those directly connected to it (mostly output component).

Remote's menu and input buttons, and television Input button not responding

well the problem sounds like it could be the IR sensor on the tv or somthing in that circut that is failing or the EPROM chip that controls : Vol up/down , Channel up/down , Power on/off ,Menu , Input selection , ect... is failing, thus this will trigger the protection circut to shut the tv down. this kind of a problem only gets worse and can dammage other components if not repaired soon so it will need testing to determine the exact cause

Sharp Aquos LC-32GA3E turning off and on

this is not i a job you should do your self as it could do more damage than good this would be a job for a tv repair person.
QUESTION FOR YOU : are you running the tv straight from the power in the wall or a extension cord.
as an extension cord could definitely cause this problem too.

HDTV picture staticky, cuts out

I suggest contacting Sharp directly. I just did and received absolutely nothing from them. But if others such as myself who have the exact same problem as you ( I own a LC32D40U just over 2 yrs old) contact then maybe something can get done.

I will certainly NEVER recommend a Sharp product to anyone and will as of this moment respond to every message out there letting everyone know exactly how bad Sharp's product are. I would recommend the Sony XBR series to anyone looking for an LCD television.

Sharp aquos

The screen resolution is determined by the source and not the television.  The source (e.g. a PlayStation 3) will query the television to determine which modes it is capable of and then (normally) use the highest available.
I've not had any problems with DVD players, computers, games consoles not managing to send 1080p so it might be worth checking the settings of the source device to see if there's anything you can change there.
Failing that I'd try and find a friend and borrow something from them that they know is working at 1080p without any problems - if the television still won't go to 1080p then its probably a fault in the HDMI cable or something odd with the television.

Sounds like a lamp error.... either a defective or broken lamp within the LCD1.gif panel itself, or you have a bad inverter.
