Your convergence ICs will need replaced. These are located on the signal board (contains STK ICs mounted on heat sinks). In this case replace these makes sense. If you only resolder these you may continue to have this problem and once again you have to pull out, replace and reconnect. Resolder any and all grounds on this board as well. Thanks for asking me!

Ur universal remote was able to move - + from the convergence grid wright,it is a good remote.The tv convergence board is dead.The tv convergence board the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors are dead too.These parts must be replaced on the tv convergence board to solved the tv pictures convergence problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

Try adjusting the convergence. If it won't move see below- (or hitting Magic Focus for some Hitachi’s)

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

Do not replace whole convergence board.Because convergence data stored in old board cannot transfered to your new board.Means in your new board there is no convergence data.Unless you have the service manual and know how to get service menu.

I believe if you have convergence problem one of your IC (STK) is bad along with couple of small
Value resistance.

Sits on soldier stand, and will take a good soldiering job to attach. I replaced both since they are only $12 for two of the STK chips.

This is a defect most likely on the convergence board.

You should have the manufacture authorized service people repair the set. You can end up buying a convergence board, and the service manuals, and still have some other faults.

For information and parts, look up the Hitachi home page on the net and go to their support area.

Sounds like the digital convergence unit got confused....
You may have to start all over again at default....
2) When converging a PTV, less is better ( adjustments) unless
you are positive adjustments will yield some improvement..
