This will be a problem either with the batteries themselves or the remote, not the tv.. If you've been using the same pack of batteries get a birand new one.If that doesn't do it, buy a new remote. Just google your tv model to find one.

Question about leaving the AC adapter plugged in to the dvd player and the wall

There is no hazard if the unit is a name brand and the batteries are OEM. It might get warm and the battery life is shorter over time but there is no reason to worry about fire etc.

Bought TV about 3 weeks ago.Picture is locked on screen couple hrs.batteries are good in remote.plus I read one review and took batteries out ,mashed each button then put batteries back in...

Turn the power off, at the wall, wait 10 seconds then turn it back on and see what happens. The remote should now control it, but If it's still the same, return it for warranty replacement!

My tv turns off after about 10 mins and sometimes a few hours for know reason

Ok not sure if this is your problem, BUT, I have done this before! If you hit the SLEEP button on your TV's Remote control you may be setting the SLEEP TIMER on your TV. It is made so you can watch a show and fall asleep on your couch and the TV will shut off after a specified time. On mine it is anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 HOURS! My remote says the word SLEEP over the timer button. not sure on yours
Hope that solves the problem, just hit the button until the word "OFF" shows on your screen.

After a while the monitor will fall asleep and wont go back on. I have to restart the computer in order for it to use the computer again and it'll repeat this over and over.

Try looking in the monitor setup menus, and changing the way that it detects an idle condition. Also check your video card to see how it is telling the monitor to goto sleep. Some use suppressed baseband, others use (very common) blanking. Change video card, may help monitor as well.

How can I turn to AV without a remote control (Samsung TV/VCR 19in Combo)

I had this problem with my TV/VCR combo unit (Samsung CXC1972) after losing the remote while in the dorms. I tried a few different universal remotes and dozens of codes before I tried the Philips 3 device universal remote as pictured below with code 037 programmed into the VCR/DVD button. I can't change the volume with this code but the input key switches between line in and tv. You can also change the channel, access the menu and operate the VCR functions with the code. I bought the remote for less than $10 at Walmart so it might be worth a try, and if it doesn't work you can always bring it back. Hope this helps.98fe8a9.jpg
