SOURCE: Needle thread getting caught in bobbin are on Brother Cs-100

I don't know if this is any help, but I would suggest taking it in to a repair store. So here is a way to find places that repair brothers machines. The place near me has done a great job both times I've gone in. Also they usually don't charge for labor, just parts. If they charge for labor it probably won't be much.

SOURCE: mass bunching of thread in the bobbin compartment

it had nothing to do with the shuttle, it is the upper thread is not in the tensioner. lift the presser foot up and thread the machine even if you have to hold the thread on the top and pull on the bottom to make it go in the tensioner it will help, if a machine loops on the bottom it is the upper tension if it loops on the top it is the lower tension

SOURCE: Bobbin winder belt melted

Mine stopped working too. Gave up and wound bobbins by hand for a while until I broke down and took the machine apart -- an ordeal to figure out. I found that a pliable ring on the winder was completely disintegrated (gummy plastic-like stuff). An online search found this -- a bobbin "tire" which I THINK is the part I need: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bobbin-winder-tire-brother-x55238051.aspx. Hope this helps. --Also cleaned all the lint out when I had the machine opened up. They don't make it EASY!

SOURCE: Brother CS80 ..... bobbin winder

The rubber ring on the bottom end of the bobbin winder shaft has degraded, gone all sticky and is probably somewhere inside the casing. You need a new rubber ring fitted. If you are not handy take the machine to a repairer. There are more details elsewhere on Fixya about doing this.

Getting the cover off my brother cs 80. all screws have been removed and the cover comes off partially. I seems to be stuck at the turn wheel, like something is holding it fixed.

I had the same problem when opening my machine. The problem is a screw underneath the bobbin winder area. Pull the bobbin base off and then gently pull up the bobbin winder assembly from under the front cover. You will see a screw in the corner to remove so that you can complete the task. I had to purchase a service manual and then I had great success with replacing the bobbin winder "tire" (Bobbin Winder Tire, Babylock, Brother #X55238051 at sewingpartsonline.com - $3.99!!)

Bobbin winder stop before befor fully wound

Is the bobbin close to full in the middle but not that full above and below? You may need to watch the bobbin wind and give the thread a nudge so that it fills right across the bobbin core to avoid this happening. Most bobbin winders will click off before the bobbin is completely full as you don't want any thread actually touching the bobbin case when it is in position, just fill to about 80% for good tension and stitching.

The bobbin will tread at all! no fabric is caught-up. motor run but not threading.

If you need a manual to see if everything is set up as it should be for winding a bobbin or any other feature of the machine, you can view or download here - http://www.brother-usa.com/manuals/default.aspx?PGID=3&R3ModelID=CS80

If you are still have a problem, the bobbin winder may be broken.

You can have it repaired or purchase an auxiliary bobbin winder for a lot less money - SideWinder Bobbin Winder where sewing notions are sold.

Brother CS-80 Sewing Machine Bobbin Rewind

For $30 you can buy a standalone bobbin winder (Sidewinder) at JoAnn's Fabrics or Amazon. It's a great little accessory (battery or electrical) because it saves wear and tear on your machine but also allows you to wind multiple bobbins without having to unthread the machine.
