- I have the same problem. If you remove the 6 screws and load the CD or DVD see if the motor turns. If it does try cleaning the read head. It is located under the center spindle of the disc. I would use a q-tip and rubbing alchohol. If the motot does not spin it is probably the power supply or the motor in which case the price for these would outway repair.- GuestDec 18, 2008

Clean the DVD or CD. Also try to clean the lens of the unit. You can either use a DVD cleaner or if you are very handy and careful you can open up the unit and get access to the lens. Use a tiny bit of windex or similar cleaner on a q-tip to wipe the lens and the other dry end to wipe off any excess reside. Again you need to be very careful about cleaning your lens this way.
If these tips don't help, your spindle motor on your unit is bad and you might as well just junk it (spindle motors are probably about as much as you paid for the unit).
