Yellowish cloud in the middle

Have a Sony Grand WEGA KDF-42WE655 42 in. Rear Projection HDTV. There is a yellowish cloud in the middle of the screen when the TV is on. When I turn it off, the screen goes black but leaves a blue-ish cloud where the yellow one was for a couple of seconds before it fades. How do I solve?

Replacing the Optical Block will cure the problem. Due to the cost of the repair i would call Sony at 1800-222-SONY and see if they could assist you in the cost of repairs. You would need to get a Authorized Service Facility out to confirm the problem and give you a estimate to in turn give to Sony. The amount they they will pay for is of course up to them but it is better than paying the entire cost yourself.
Hope this helps,

It's the Digitial Optical Block. Sony is working with owners of this, and many other sets that have the same problem since the 2004 model year lineup. http://sites.google.com/site/sonylcdrptvproblems/
