Question about Fujitsu fi-4340C Flatbed Scanner
When using the ADF on my fi-4340c scanner, the top (back) side of the scanned document is much lighter than the bottom (front). I've can't find a way to independantly change brightness settings for each camera. I want to switch the top lamp unit with the bottom unit to see if that is the proplem before I spend money on a new lamp, but I don't know how to replace either the top or the bottom unit. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

SOURCE: fi 5750c adf will not initialise
Clean the rubber rollers in the ADF with a well wrung cloth thoroughly. Use IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) if reqd. Dont use any other solvents.

You can try 1. reseting the scanner 2. uninstalling and reinstalling the software

Your scanner will never pass the initial boot "test" sequence without getting sensor and light readings. Cut the binding and scan it through the adf and save a few weeks work.

Open up the ADF ****.
Remove Two Silver screws holding front
of top cover.
Remove screw from ADF release button.
Pull back of top cover to unclip.
This will enable you to see the rear lamp bay
and camera unit.
Lamp is situated under Camera unit.
ADF = Auto Doc Feeder.

Front Side Optical Alarm only generated when start command is received or when white level reference is checked (every 50 scans). CCD output must be above predetermined slice level when reading the white reference. Slice level is set in F/W and compared to the read range values. The read range is approximately pixel 120 to 4800. If CCD output does not reach slice level the AGC tries to adjust the output of the amplifier to exceed the slice level. If any portion of the read range is lower than slice then Optical Alarm is generated. Also, it can be generated by dirty optics or reference, bad lamp or CCD.
If "Front Side Optical Alarm" appeared, clean the glass (small and large one) of the flatbed and carrier unit.
If the issue persists, then check if CCD harness or CR cable is disconnected? Connect the connector.
If the issue persists, then replace Front lamp.
If the issue is not resolved, then replace the Control PCA or Carrier unit or Optical unit.
Pls acknowledge if the issue is resolved.
