Cadence A7 HC Car Audio Amplifier

Diagnosis light

posted by emoney26 on Nov 20, 2007

I own a cadence A7 amp which is hooked up to two 12" kicker solo barics. Lately my amp has been turning on and off. Its not actually turning off but it stops delivering power to my subs and the red diagnosis light starts flashing. Im not sure exactly what the problem might be.
I have the same problem.

It could be an overheating or power issue. It may be that the two speakers are loading it too much, which will cause it to overheat. Does the light eventually go off and the sound return ? Do you have the speakers wired in series or parallel ? What's the impedance of the speakers and the minimum continuous load for the amp ?
