Question about AudioCodes MediaPack MP-114 FXS and FXO Analog / Digital Phone Line Converter

3 Answers

Hi, Here's my issue: a) I have a remote shed with no telephone/extension lines. I do have power and network access. b) I instaled a Polycom 301 phone at the shed. c) I instaled an AudioCodes MP-114 FXO in the house. d) A POTS is connected to the MP-114. I'm configuring the "Tel to IP Routing" tables to Destination Address 10.1.10.30 which is the Polycom phone's address e) A call comes in and the MP-114 tries to establish the connection but it doesn't go through. I'm seeing "SIP/2.0 405 Method Not Allowed" in the MP-114 log. Ideas?

Thanks, but you'll have to be a little bit more specific.

Are you asking me a question? Are you giving me an answer? Should I change configuration?

THIS is my recommendation. THIS IS FOR USA only.

THINK outside of the box!

1) Used Ethernet over power line boxes like Netgear.

http://www.netgear.com/Products/PowerlineNetworking/PowerlineEthernetAdapters.aspx

2) Find a working OLD PIII or P4 pc and set the ip to the same subnet.

3) Buy a MagicJack for $39.99

magicjack.com

4) Do the standard setup

5) connect Polycom 301 phone and use it.

Magicjack is SIP and it's $39.99 for package with 1 year service and $20 for the following year....

From your home pc or laptop, please ping 10.1.10.30

and look for any packet lost.

Make sure the Ethernet and the power wires are NOT running side by side next to the power line.

Make sure the Ethernet wire is under 100 meters / 328 feet

Use a switch instead of a hub

Try the setup closest to the hub first before you put it in service in the remote shed.

    ======
I still think my magicjack recommendation will be more cost effective.

My calculation is base on $19.99 per year all you can use local and long distance calls

How much is your SIPS charging you per call?

Are you able to check on the possibility of duplicate IP address?

Even on a small network,it's possible to have two or more DHCP server/router/linux server give out IP addresses.

I will follow up on it.

It seems like you are missing two Service Point Triggers in iFC IMSM in HSS (or similar).

Could you please check how many SPT's you have configured? It should be 17.

In case you have 15, please add two more and provision these as follows:

SPT_16
trigger when condition is true
group 5
Trigger type SIP Method
Method SUBSCRIBE

SPT_17
trigger when condition is true
group 5
Trigger type Header
Name Event
Parameters contain
auid=org.openmobilealliance.deferred-list

Click Save button and try to register again.

*- default user: Polycom / password: 456

*- Under menu SIP, type in your voip provider
*-Under menu LINES type in user info and "secret" should be your password.

Make sure your ports are open (SIP is usually 5060) you can change it in that same config screen.

Message light keeps flashing, but no message- Polycom 550

This is usually a problem with the phone's configuration. Is this phone getting it's configuration from a network server or pbx? If so, find the configuration file for your specific extension and find this location. This example is for a phone whose extension is 2704

If you are not using a network-based configuration, the phone's settings can be changed via the phone's internal web server. Open a web browser window and enter the phones' IP address, i.e. http://192.168.1.109. The default user is 'Polycom' and the pass '456'. Go to the links at the top for each line you are using and scroll to the bottom, you will see the voicemail settings there. Use the above info to fill in the correct info, save the settings and the phone will reboot.

How do i conferance call on a polycom voicestation 300

The conference call feature is not part of the phone, but part of your telephone network. In some systems you press a sequence of keys to conference in another member such as flash #02 but it depends on what telephone network you use. Contact your IT admin and ask how to trigger the feature on that analog line.

MWI doesn't work on Polycom SE-225

The issue isn't exactly resolved. This appears to be due to an incompatibility of the Polycom Se-225 on our Meridian 1 phone system. But Converse handsets with MWI work fine. I have a partial solution by disabling the lamp (LPD on class-of-service), while leaving MWA setting. This allows the interrupted dial-tone when the user lifts the handset.

LCD Display keeps flashing "INITIALIZING"

It needs to be plugged into a properly configured Avaya Definity digital port / wall jack. (NOT a regular telephone line as this can damage the polycom!!!) Does another Avaya digital phone work in that jack? If it does then call polycom for a RMA and eturn the phone under warrenty. If another Avaya digital phone does also does not work you need to check the PBX configuration or there is a wiring error at the jack or the PBX.
