DaneElec 4GB USB stick on IMac Mac Ox 5.4.6 changed 4GB to 400MB

My 2 pieces of DaneElec 4GB USB stick was fine at first on all the computers I used it on. (all my mac running MacOX), after arased the deta, making place for new, was unableto take more than 400 MB. I looked for downloadn of reformating for Dana Elec 4GB red, but all was for Windows, unrecognized by my MacOX. I also wrote email for the DanaElec Support website, but they did not answered my question. Anybody solved this problem before. Anybody has an idea how to change back for the original 4GB capacity?

My computer doesn't recognize my dane-elec 8gb usb stick , although other usb devices do work.

1. Try a different USB port. If other ports recognize it, then the original port is fried. 2. Try a different computer. If the other computer does not recognize it, then your flash drive is damaged.

Good Luck!

Will not physically go into USB port, seems the small plastic with holes has moved forward inside the connector and stuck

turn off your computer before trying
get a pair of flat nose pliers or tweezers and place either side of the plastic strip stuck in the usb port gently pull on it until it has moved into its original spot other than that you will need to get a new usb port put in or if there are any other usb ports get a 4 or 5 port usb adapter and use that for your DaneElec 4 GB
hope this helps

My 2gb usb thumb drive is "not recognized" I am using a Mac and looks like I may need a new driver. Where can I locate this??

With thumb drives, you usually do not need a new driver. Try this:

1. Open Finder
2. Applications 3. On the left column, you should see your thumb drive. Click on it.
4. Click on the "Erase" tab near the top
5. For "Format:" select "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)"
6. Click on the "Erase..." button

Dane Elec 4gb USB Not Readable

Try it in a different computer or even a different usb port on the computer that you are using. If a second computer gives you the same error, then the drive is either damaged or its filesystem is corrupted. In the first case there is not much you can do. In the second case you may be able to reformat it to make it work, but you would lose any data that was on it.

DaneElec 4GB suddenly stops working?!

Hello, Likely the saulders on the circuit board are broken. If you are very skillfull and own a fine tipped sauldering device it's possible to repair it yourself although not highly advisable. If you'd prefer to have a pro look at it for you, just comment back with your region(country and city) and I will recommend an appropriate facility. Chris
