My lint filter light goes on after 2 minutes of drying time. The clothes are still wet and the temperature inside the drum is cold. I have had the dryer repaired several times once for drum noise where the entire unit was taken aprt and all internal pieces replaced. After that, I began to have the lint filter problem. A second authoirzed repair faility came and replaced the door latch to no avail. I also had the lint vents cleaned and have cleaned the lint filter multiple times. No joy. The dryer does not work and Bosch has not resolved my problem. I have recieved the worst customer service ever for the last 5 months. I still have a non functional dryer. I'm not sure what it takes to get Bosch to consider that I am a consumer who owns one of theirpremier appliances and it does nothing but take up space. Stay away from this company's products!!!

I have the same problem with lint after 2 weeks of using Bosch dryer and getting very close to nervous breakdown... Do I have to return this crap back to store or does Bosch has more decent filter solution for Nexxt 500? Thank you in advance for word of support!

This has been the  most aggravating appliance we have ever owned. It beeps every five minutes. At least we are getting our excercise, running to the dryer.

We have the gas dryer and every 5 minutes the lint filter sensor comes on. Very annoying. Where do you call Bosch?

    Bosch Nexxt 500 Series Dryer

Lint filter is CLEAN, but dryer will only run for about 30 seconds, then stops, then flashes E-01 on the screen. What do I do?

I have unplugged for 30 minutes and retried. Didn't work.

  • cwdw Apr 27, 2008

We recently purchased the Nexxt 500 dryer and we have the same poblem, the lint error code E:01 comes on about 5 minutes after starting the dryer.

We have checked our vents and removed the outside vent screen with no luck.

It's been about 9 months with the Nexxt 500 and about every five minuets the lint filter thing goes on. It's to the point where I'm ready to take something to it. Just dry the cloths please! So that so much to ask?

  • Anonymous Dec 01, 2008

We hqve the same problem.  VERY ANNOYED!!!

  • ktaushea Dec 04, 2008

The dryer will not turn on because it says the lint filter is dirty, but it's not.
There is lint in the bottom of the unit, but no way to get to it.

  • Anonymous Mar 12, 2014

When attempting to restart, the display will show 20 (mins) even though I've pushed something different (ex. extra dry usually is 117 mins). Sometimes the dryer will run a few minutes after that and shut off again and sometimes it won't even restart. If it doesn't restart, I try to move the dial to other options and they too will flash 20 mins and not start. The only dial option that will work at this point is the air dry and if I run it on air dry for bit, then I can put it back on a heated drying option and it will work for awhile again and then repeat the same problem. I had the same problem and figured if the lint sensor is clogged, covered or otherwise gummed up with lint, dirt, hair, etc then this will continue to happen regardless of wether the lint trap is clean.

So I took my compressor and blew out the slot where the trap slides into...stuff flew everywhere (so watch your eyes or wear goggles). I then vaccumed it up and did it again... and again and again each time loads of stuff came out. Once nothing blew out I loaded the dryer and have not had the problem since...

This makes sense right? so if you can try this solution.

What we have found to be the best solution is to stop using dryer sheets... use the liquid fabric softener in the washer. Once I switched to the liquid, I have not had any problems with the dryer running the full cycle without stopping. If anybody is shopping for a dryer, take our advice and DO NOT buy a Bosch. I have tried several times to contact the company and they will not answer.

If you are using dryer sheets, the coating from the sheets comes off & can clog the filter/screen and give you the error code and cause the shut down! Replace or clean the screen thoroughly and use fabric softener instead of dryer sheets.

This is just one possibility, but the one we find the most in our repair experience!

I have a Nexxt 500 series dryer that I purchased from Lowes and have experienced the same problem with the lint filter warning.

I changed the entire run of solid vent pipe to eliminate a 90-degree elbow to no avail.

I had an exhaust kit on my old dryer that I purchased from Lowes. When my new dryer arrived and was installed I discovered that the exhaust pipe was slightly smaller than 4 inches, therefore the elbow from the kit would not securely fit on the exhaust pipe so the installer just attached the flexible exhaust pipe to the back of the dryer.

This short cut did not allow for a symmetrical 90-dregree bend. After several months of having this annoying problem I put the elbow back on the exhaust pipe. In order for the elbow to tightly fit I first had to put some duct tape around the exhaust pipe to increase its diameter.

This has solved the problem, the dryer now runs for the entire cycle without sounding the lint alarm and shutting down.

I've did two things: changed flexible vinyl vent hose to aluminum duct hose, changed 1 elbow angle from 90 degrees to 60 making hose sloped (avoid several 90 degrees!) and washed filter with soapy water - no more annoying beeping sound from dryer in my basement! Plus check:

I solved this problem by correcting the flexible dryer ducting air flow after I had been moving the dryer around.  I guess the gas will turn off if the draw is not correct and the gas and exhaust go out the same vent.

The problem may be with air flow through the lint filter screen. The filter is a fine screen and even though it appears to be lint free, it may not be. Spray the screen with a degreaser, use a soft brush to gently scrub it, and rinse under running water. This may solve your problem.

did you clean the LINT filter? try vacuuming the lint trap area. wet or damp lint can get built up in the lint trap area. it is good to regularly clean the area as it is a Major fire hazard.

Also I WATCHED the YOUTUBE video I recommended and NOTICED his DRIVE BELT is WAY too loose! Methinks THAT is why his dryer has problems!

Be SURE your belt is not to aged because they can STRETCH and then TRIP the "RESET SWITCH" he's talking about. Note the way his PULLEY shakes so violently... AND the action of the belt itself...

Bosch Nexxt 500 series dryer, E:01 and lint light flashing. nothing is stuck in the door.

This indicates the sensor near the lint filter gets too hot. This is usually caused by bad air flow.
Try running the unit without the vent hose attached. If the problem goes away the problem is in the ducting.
You may need to have it cleaned out. May be lint filter is clogged due to the use of dryer sheets or fabric softener. You can try to clean the filter with Windex.
If neither one of this suggestions resolves the issue there may be a problem with the sensor, there may be heat escaping somewhere within the dryer. This is only resolved by technician.

Good Luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.
