Question about Televison & Video

Polaroid FXM-2611C Have a Polaroid FXM-2611c TV. Takes about 2 minutes to get a picture once unit is first turned on. Also before I can get a clear picture I must change the channel...otherwise just lines. If I then turn it off and back on, picture shows up quickly, like what it was new. Polaroid has a fixit program where I pay $225 and they send out a technician and some parts. I have the back cover off, wondering if there is anything I can do simple/cheap before setting up with them? Thanks in advance for any help!!

This sounds like the problem most LCD tv's get with swelled up capacitors in the power supply board. look for circular cylinder shaped parts rapped in plastic with writting on the sides, and metal tops, if the top is rounded over, not flat, it is bad. replace them.

I am having issues with my Polaroid FXM-2611C Flat Screen TV. It turns on and shows the Polaroid image in the middle of screen but also shows a duplicate image at the bottom of the screen. When the...

If you have a soldering iron and a capacitor tester you can check each cap out one by one, making sure that when you put back in a good one you observe the original polarity. If a cap has blown or is leaking it is obviously bad.

Boards can be expensive and perhaps not cost effective for a repair when you can get a new set for about the same money with a warranty to boot!

Polaroid 26inch lcd tvred standby light on but power wont turn on. I've unplugged the tv, changed the batteries in the remote. The tv stays with the red standby light only.

You need to open it up and checking the voltages in the power supply sections, you should have 5v (for logic circuits), 12v for sound, 24v for backlight inverter circuits. Look for bad caps with bulging tops in power supply also.

No picture; dark screen. Red light turns to green when power button pressed. no picture from any input. Inverter?

I would check output voltage of the power supply first to make sure that you do have DC 5v, 12v, and 24v. If you do then the problem can be in the inverter board. The inverter board also has a couple surface mounted fuses on it. You can check for parts.
