SOURCE: home phone giving a high pitched dial tone .

First:
1.Do you have DSL in the home?
2.Anywhere in the house?
3.Anyone using DSL in the home?
Second:
1.Is the second phone wireless (by this I mean, do you plug in an a/c plug and A PHONE CORD?
2.Is the base set with a/c plug and phone cord?
Third:
1.Do you hear this high pitch on both?
2.On only one?
Fourth: (Most Important)
1.Can you plug another land phone, common set into the same jack and get this high pitch?

Answer yes or no to these few questions and we'll get you fixed up. There is no problem with your units if they were purchased new. The odds are extreme, however, they do require batteries.
Please make sure your batteries are new as this is important in wireless sets communicating with a high frequency base set.
I hope I can help you get this working properly in time. I'm retired and have nothing but time.

Registering Handsets to the Base
Whichever handset you choose to charge in the base is automatically
registered to the base. Any additional handsets must also be registered to
the base before you can use them.
Be sure both handsets are fully charged.
One at a time, place each handset in the base. The charge/in use LED on
the base begins to flash, indicating the base is registering the handset.
Wait for at least five seconds, then pick up the handset and press
[talk/flash]. If the display shows TALK, the handset is registered. If not,
place the handset in the base to try again.
Press [end] and continue with the next handset.
Note:
Once both handsets are registered, it doesn’t matter which
handset is placed in the base or the charger.
When you charge the handsets, Caller
ID summary screen and the name of
the handset appears.

SOURCE: Dial Tone but won't call out.

My GE cordless phone Model No. 28112ee3-a is not functioning and it keep beeping. I once found a code to stop it from beeping. can anyone help?

The GE 28112EE3-a was made by Thomson with the GE name. The manuals for most of these phones are available here: http://www.home-electronics.net/user_guides.asp . The direct link to the manual is http://www.home-electronics.net/USER-GUIDES/28112_DOM_EN_CL_IB.pdf .

What type of beeping are you hearing? If you are hearing a beep every seven seconds from a handset, the solution is to recharge the battery. If the battery won't hold a charge, then replace the battery with a 5-2721 Nickel-metal Hydride battery.

The handsets can also beep for about 2 minutes if another handset or the base pages them. This is a locator tone. Just press the Talk/Call Back button or the Tone/Exit button on each handset.

I hope this helps.
