Printer head adjustments

My OKI Microline 320 Turbo Printer is not striking like it used too, thus my 3 page invoices are unreadable on pages 2 & 3. This just started happening, printer is about 4 years old. How do you adjust print head? What does the "Head Gap" positions on ribbon cartridge represent?

Your help is greatly appreceiated.

Re: printer head adjustments

If you take the cover off on the left or right on the bar the bar where the carriage and head ride, there is a tab that will adjust the head gap, be careful if you get it 2 tight you my damage the print head

also I've see this be a bad head, pins not fireing all the way out.

We print a 3 part Invoice and the print on page 2 & 3 are so light you can hardly read them.

On the left side of the ribbon holder is a blue lever. move this towards the paper (rear of the printer) until you get clear prints

Problem with new installed printhead

If I remember the 320, there is a head-gap adjustment that is normally moved for replacement of the head and must be reset again. Check your manual for that term; 'Head gap adjustment'

Try downloading and installing an updated driver for your printer.

Here is the driver download page for your printer: MICROLINE 320 TURBO < Drivers & software

Select your operative system, download the file, then run the installer.

Oki microline 320 turbo

Your Oki model does not need drivers, for they are already contained since Windows 98 and up. However, if it still doesn't work, check that the printer emulation is set to IBM and then install a new printer using the IBM Proprinter II/III driver, also contained in Windows.

Be blessed.

Hi Charles,
Use the IBM proprinter driver for this printer and select IBM in the menu of the printer.
Hope this helps.

Oki ML 320 Turbo/D IBM - JetDirect 170x Print Server prolems

Check the receive buffer on the Oki. I usually set it to the highest (88k or 128k). You might also check the print head gap if you are printing multi part invoices. If the print head is too close it may overheat and stop printing. If you have a different printer, swap it out and see if it prints correctly. It may be a problem with the JetDirect 170x, not the printer.
