Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

I bought a new Kenmore washer a year ago. It was installed by sears and worked great until I moved it to install new linoleum flooring. Now it vibrates like crazy on the spin cycle. I read the procedure for leveling the legs and it shows to be perfectly level but still vibrates. I raised the back up to adjust the self levelers. They seem to be working as they make that clicking adjustment noise when the back is lifted. I have lifted the back to asjust the legs numerous times and it s always the same vebrating when spinning. I don't know what else could be wrong. I put it on a furniture dolly when I moved it but I don't see how that could have damaged it.

If the sheet metal body was the only thing touching the dolly it would be fine. if the drum and motor sat on it, it could have popped off or broken one of the 4 suspension can check this by lifting the machine bit or popping the top off. this is the only thing i can think of based on your detailed description.

Moving refrigerator without tearing my linoleum? Does my Kenmore have wheels on it? When my new linoleum was installed the guy tore 3 triagle shape tears on it. He is going to redo the floor but I want to...

Im not familiar with this particular model, but if it does have wheels, they will only be either 2 at the back or 2 at the front. Over the years i have found that regardless of wheels, the answer is to NEVER drag an appliance across linoleum.

Far better is to find or but a strip of hardboard. You will need 2 strips around 3-4 inches wide just over dounbe the length of the appliance from front to back.

Get down on the floor and chack where the wheels and or feet are.
With the hardboard shiny side up, line up your 2 strips so the back end of the strips are where you want the appliance to end its journey.
Now lift the appliance onto the front of the hardboard.
Stand on the ends of the hardboard (This is why it needs to be a little longer that twice the depth of the appliance)
Push the unit backwards using the hardboard as a slipway
once on plage, take hold of the strips and tug them from under the appliance (If possible, tipping it back a little as you do this may help get them out).

Because I repair quite a few appliances and also work with UPVC double glazing on occasion, I have a couple of white plastic 4 inch finishing strips that are shiny on BOTH sides that I use for doing this, but unless you have a shiny both sides thing the hardboard solution will work. If you want to really make it slide in and out easy, then 4 bits of hardboard, paired up with the shiny side out and the rough sides in contact with each other will do the job even better

My husband purchased a Maytag Neptune front load washer model # MAH8700AWW about 5 years ago. The washer works great and we have never had any problems until recently. We just had pergo floors installed in...

you may need to put some anti vibration shock pads under the legs or some two sided tape to put on the feet to help secure it to the floor it may be slipping on the new floor surface

HE2 front loadable washer doesn't move fm wash to rinse to drain

Sounds like the door lock. It will not advance to spin if it thinks the door is open. There is a instruction sheet inside the unit behind the lower panel. That will give the error codes for the flashing lights.
