Printer had a jam, I cleared it but now the screen flashes 3 and E alternately. I tried turning it off, pulling the plug, turning it upside down in case something fell into it! NO LUCK - anyone have any ideas?

That error is saying there is still paper inside, you might try using an index card pushing it back thru the paper path under the rollers where the paper comes out to be printed, you should see a small corner of paper pushed back into the paper feed area. GOOD LUCK!

My printer says "printing" in the window but

Sometimes there is a jam and you can't see it. Take a flashlight and make sure there are no small pieces of paper or other objects in the way. You can also turn the printer upside down carefully and see if any small objects fall out. I've seen everything from fingernails to sunflower seeds jam a printer.

Hi, My printer had a paper Jam and I am pretty sure some paper got stuck however i cant find any when lifting the top up.It now wont work and the alarm light is flashing ThanksJemma

Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred. Step2 Turn off the printer. Step3 Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper. Step4 Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge. Step5 If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it. Step6 266_a1.jpg If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam. Step7 266_a2.jpg If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper . Don't force anything, though. Step8 Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on. Step9 If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

If you still face the problem let me know..

My printer has a paper jam but there is no paper jammed in my printer what do i do?

run the roller cleaning application in maintenance a few times then turn your printer upside down and gently shake it side to side to clear any foreign objects that may have fallen down the paper feed.
I know it sounds silly but on 3 occasions now i have cleared the "jam".

Pen gartridge jam

Is it an ink cartridge jam

Please follow steps below : STEP: Disconnect and Reconnect the Printer Power Supply
Unplug the power cord from the wall socket. Disconnect the power supply from the back of the printer.

Wait 15 seconds.

Reconnect the power supply to the back of the printer.

Plug the power cord back into the wall socket

STEP: Raise and Lower the Scanner Assembly on the Printer

Lift the lid of the scanner until the locking bar catches to move the ink cartridge carrier to the center position.

Release the locking bar and close the scanner assembly.

If the ink cartridge carrier fails to center, repeat steps 1 and 2

Scanner Assembly Open but Without the Cartridge Carrier Centering

STEP: Check to See if the Ink Carrier Latches Are Open

Open the printer.

Check inside the printer to see if the cartridge carrier latches that hold the ink cartridges down have popped open.

Look down inside the printer and remove any torn or stuck paper from the input or output tray by pulling firmly.

Close the scanner unit.

Reconnect the power brick to the back of the printer

STEP: Clear Obstructions From the Input Tray

STEP: Fan the Paper

Grasp the **** of paper at one end (Figure 1).

Additional Information

It is quite possible for objects such as pens, pencils, paperclips, and other small items to fall into the paper input tray causing paper jams to occur. Follow the below steps to try and clear any obstructions that may have fallen into the printer.

The next steps involve lifting the printer and turning it upside down. Only perform these steps if you are willing and able to do so.

Remove all paper from the input tray.

Unplug the power brick from the back of the printer.

Unplug the USB cable from the back of the printer.

Lift the printer up and turn it upside down.

Make sure that you are holding onto the scan bed to prevent it from falling open when the printer is turned upside down.

Tilt the printer from side to side while it is upside down to see if any obstructions fall from the input tray.

First off, NEVER EVER turn a componant upside down and shake it. Second, open the printer up and search for any additional paper. A lot of time a paper jam isn't just one sheet, especially if you have a faster printer. I would also try using some rubber rejuvinator on the printer so that it picks the paper up better so it goes through the printing cycle better.

Paper will not feed correctly,,,it pulls off center and then jams

You have something jammed in the paper path of the printer. Un plug it, remove the paper, and turn it upside down. Something will probably fall out. If not, shine a flash light down inside and look. It's most likely a paper clip or something. This is a common problem with those type of feed systems.

If the printer will not turn off, unplug the power cable from the electrical outlet or wall outlet.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
Wait about 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Plug the power cord to the back of the printer.
