Well..... i understand that your notebook has dropped and not able to boot with an error.. to isolate this issue i strongly recommend to the steps given below 1. restart the noteboot or press the power button to restart...... 2.Now press the function key F2 this takes you to BIOS which u can see the options in a blue screen. 3. Here in BIOS mode you need to perform HDD self test. If the test failed to examine the hard drive then you need to replace the hard drive.
Hope this could help u...... For further quries give me reply...

My acer aspire one netbook AOD257 keeps telling me no bootable device insert boot disk

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Please help me..i have a aspire one d260 netbook..the problem is bootmgr is has no cd drive and i dont have a external cd drive to use.. how can i fix it using only a usb flash can...

You might have to take it to the shop. Lesson learned. Never buy a computer without a CD Drive because one day the system is going to croak. You will need a operatingsystem disk or a repair disk to fix it. Insert it in the drive then bootfrom it. You want to get to a dos command prompt (black screen with whitelettering) and type the following commands. Press ENTER after eachcommand.
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot
bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd

Reboot and see if the problem is solved. If not get back to the doscommand prompt and run the check disk utility.Torun the check disk utility you will need a repair disc or a operating systemdisc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot from it. You want toget to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with white letters) and type thefollowing command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

Acer aspire 5253 error message no botable device after laptop was dropped on carpet

No bootable device suggests that your Acer Aspire hard disk may have been damaged when the computer was dropped.
You should try opening the cover on the base of the laptop where the hard drive is fitted and check to make sure that the drive is seated firmly and has not come loose with the drop. See the Acer Aspire 5253 Quick Start Guide for the location of the drive cover.
If reseating the drive does not help, then you would need to find any recovery discs that you may have made or received with the laptop plus need to buy and install a replacement hard drive.

How do reset my acer aspire one netbook back to factory default

Hello, it appears this unit is a 160 Gb hard disk with windows xp installed. press the ALT + F10 keys when you boot up the laptop and see the Asus logo. If you still have a restore partition on the netbook this will get you into the restore process, if not you will need to reinstall from a portable cd drive and factory cd discs.

I have dropped my acer aspire one netbook and now the following message keeps being displayed upon reboot. Intel UNDI. PXE-2.1 (Build 082) Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation For Atheros PCIE...

By the sound of the message, your hard drive broke when you dropped it. You can open the hard drive door (should be on the bottom help in by a screw) and re-seat the connector to see if it just got loose. You will likely have to purchase a new hard drive and reinstall your operating system. If there is data you really need off the hard drive you can call a data recovery service to try and salvage what's left on the hard drive, but it will likely cost in the hundreds of dollars range.

Hope this helps, and thank you for using FixYa!

For Acer Aspire One Net Book Check cable connection..! PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM No bootable devise-- insert boot disk and press any key

Your netbook is trying to boot from your Lan/Ethernet connection since It can find no working hard drive to boot from. This usually means that your hard drive has failed.
Also remember that your netbook will try to boot from other drive types including your SD card, USB Memory Stick and even a Magic Jack if you have one inserted in the flash memory slot or USB slot while rebooting the PC.
Many people have mistakenly assumed that their Netbook is messed up because they forget to remove all flash and memory sticks before rebooting.

Need an manual every time i turn computeron a message asks for a boot disk!

The computer is asking for a boot disk because it cannot see your hard drive. Check the bios to be sure that the BIOS is recognizing your hard disk. If it is, then you may have a hard disk failure or a motherboard failure.

If you go out to ASUS's website you can download a user manual by putting in your model number, etc...

Media test failure, No bootable device, insert boot disk.

Media test failure, no bootable device error message means the hard disk has failed, therefore cannot boot up.
If reseating the hard drive doesn't fix your problem then replace the faulty drive and install Windows on the new drive to get the computer operational again.
