SOURCE: Brown spots coming from steam iron

you can mix 50% water with 50% vinager let it set in the iron overnight then turn it on and let the steam run out. What happens is the inside of the iron where the water is had corroded or rusted or has lime deposits.the vinager will break this loose overnight.also after you let the iron steam out all the mixture, flush the iron 4 to 5 times and start using fresh water from a store bought gallon.your tap water is probably full of iron.

SOURCE: Manual for Euro-Pro G6118H

I don't know if you have the number for the euro pro customer service department; but, I had the same problem, called customer service, and had a manual emailed to me. The manual came within a couple of hours via email. In case you don't have the number and still need a manual for your unit, try calling 800.798.7398. I hope this helps and good luck!

Fill with 50/50 water vinegar solution. Get it good and hot and let it sit for two hours. Rinse and repeat if necessary. Buy a gallon of water from the market and use that from now on. This will fix your problem. The Iron is concentrating the iron in you water and this is what is causing the brown spots. Hope you find this helpful. If you do please take the time to rate it fixya and maybe I will keep helping people for free.

If you are having steam problems then the cartridge needs changing.

I phoned them (0161 652 1211) and they do sell the cartridge for £5.99 including delivery but are out of stock for a couple of weeks. You have to send them a cheque or postal orders. Good luck.

Send Cheque for £5.99 for each cartridge with note of model etc.

I have a EURO-PRO X Model EP965 Steam Generator seems to working but steam is not coming our, neither for the iron nor for the brush.

I think you have a tank that is calcified and is not getting enough heat to the water assuming there is enough water in it. If it was blocked it would either cause the relief valve to vent or explode.

I would start by cleaning it, my best guess would be to run a few cycles with vinegar in it. This is a mild acid that will dissolve the calcium deposits. Try maybe a 50%-50% with vinegar and water.

Be sure the vinegar will not damage the unit, I do not know.

Hope these links help.

Euro steam evolution iron model 6399

I just got my iron and got into an immediate argument with my husband when I read the manuel, which said "made to use tap water"....."NEVER USE 100% DISTILLED WATER". I was about to return it when I decided to call the customer service number and lo and behold, my husband is right! I\'ll never live that one down. The person on the phone said they\'d been trying to get the manufacturer to change that in the manuals for a long time. I\'m really annoyed - but you do need to use distilled water in this iron. I\'m still thinking about returning it just because of the argument.
