Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Scanner Failure message on my HP 6110

It says to turn it off and on again. I have tried several times and it continues to repeat the message. It also makes a horrible noise for about a minute after I turn it on again. I don't care about the scanner, I just want to print.

Have you tried plugging into a wall socket, sometimes using power supply or powerstrip or surge procter will not let enough elect through to the unit.

This machine won't let you print until the scanner is fixed, sometimes just dust on mirrors and optics in the scanner, other times lamp loses brightness over time and you need to replace the scan unit. Costs more than a new machine.

Hi Paul,

Scanner Failure usually results in Hardware Failure. However there is one step you can try. Try connecting the printer directly to wall outlet or any other power outlet and the issue should be resolved.

HP 6110xi printer - when turned on, something starts to chatter repeatedly...then I get a scanner failure message - help!


ive had this several times, disconnect it from the computer, pull the power cord then re-insert it you may need to do this several times but it should go away...

LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM , need to check the motor , guidance path where the bright light travels , needs to be serviced , hope this helps

HP officeJet K series scanner failure power off and on again


Hi.

The "Scanner System Failure" error occurs if the scanner bulb is not heating to the correct temperature or there is some other issue with the scanner hardware

Please follow the below given instructions to resolve the issue.

Please remove the All-in-One Printer from the Power Surge Protector and plug it directly into a wall Power outlet, as the surge protector may not provide enough power to printer.

Please perform the step given below to power cycle the unit after removing the print cartridges from the printer:

1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug in the power only
4. Repeat steps 2-3 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one to your computer.

Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:

1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on and wait for 20 seconds.

2. Then, press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord.

Continue holding until it displays Semi Full Reset message in the front panel of the All-in-One.

Note:
A semi-full reset will do the following:
The user settings to the factory defaults, Language and country settings on some models, Fax logs, Fax headers, Fax speed dial information.
