SOURCE: Can't find 2A 125v fuse replacement for on-off will 250v be OK?

There is no difference between a 125v and 250v fuse. The most important thing is the 2Amp. This fuse is probably the line fuse and could be the only trouble and may have blow with a line surge. Make sure the 2A you use is a Fast Blow Type. If it does blow again you most likely have a internal power supply failure.

Hello
There is some leaky mains rectifier diodes on the circuit. Before switching it on, replace all the four mains rectifier idiodes, or a rectifier stack, whatever it may be. Replace the mains filter capacitor that has bulged also' It may have got damaged. Check all the related components on the power regulator section and replace the suspected. Do these things, and inform me the progress. Feel free to contact me through Fixya. Ok.

SOURCE: Doesn't power up. Relay clicks several times,

First of all you should weight the cost benefit of repairing the set versus purchasing a new one.

Depending on the size and model of tv, it may be more prudent to simply cut your losses and buy a new tv rather than spend money swapping out circuit boards in the hopes of repairing a set in questionable condition already. Main / Power Supply / LCD Controller boards will typically run you about $100 each to replace, so weight that against the purchase price of a new tv that comes with a warranty.

Given that, if you are still intent on trying to repair the tv, and it does since you have gone out and acquired a service manual, there are steps you can take.

First of all the service manual should give you some idea what the blink pattern means on the front panel lights. Look that up first.

It does sound power supply board related, but bad capacitors are not always as obvious as the tell-tale bulging or gunk-leaking ones.

Use the manual to find out what voltages you should be getting out of which wires coming off the power supply board. In general, some will be 5VDC, some will be 12VDC, and some will be 24VDC. Test them with a multimeter and see if you are missing any.

Obviously this test requires you to have the unit plugged in and powered up with the safety covers removed. I cannot stress enough the potential dangers involved and if you are not confident with that level of maintenance, I would recommend you leave the live power tests to the trained technicians.

You said you didn't see any bad capacitors, so you may want to just unclip, pull out and then reseat all the multi-wire connector you can get to in case one of them just has a bad connection.

Good luck in the troubleshooting.

If you have any questions or require any further assistance please comment back on this page and I will do my best help you. Please provide the model number of your tv next time as well.

If this was at all helpful, please click on the 4 Thumbs Up rating icon above.

Thank you very much.

Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

Turned my sanyo dp42410 off last nignt and now it wont turn on no led light on he front nothing

Good day!

The problem of your TV is on the power supply.
Please follow this procedure for D.I.Y troubleshooting.
  1. Remove all screws at the back.Open the cover.
  2. Power ON the TV.Check the input voltage of power supply from the cord.If supply form the power cord replace it.
  3. If you have voltage supply from the cord.Check output voltage form the power supply board and for sure you have no supply on it because the indicator didn't lights up.
  4. Check your power supply board such as fuse if busted, power transistor and diodes if shorted,open/change value resistor and leak/bulge on top capacitor.
  5. If you found that replace it and try to power it on again. Then check the output voltage such as 5vdc for the system board,12vdc for the sounds and 24vdc for the inverter.
  6. If you got that 3 supplies your TV is OK.
Note:If this procedure is not fix your problem it means the power supply got a major trouble and not for D.I.Y..I suggest to you as a technician to buy a new power supply board or give to the qualified technician.

I hope this solution will be helpful.Thank you very much and good luck.

Watching the TV and heard a "pop", it went dead. Opened up the back and found a blown 4A 125V fuse. Replaced fuse and plugged in TV. Fuse blew instantly when I plugged in the TV. Sylvania...

The power suply unit may be dead......if the fuse blows instantly it means that the main input is short.
possible parts damaged :the diodes from the mains, the power tranzistor and the ic from the primary part and other components around them.
First unplug the tv, unload the mains capacitor (using a light bulb) check all the diodes from the rectifing bridge, check for any shortened semiconductors or blow resistors.

I have a Brother HL2140. It was plugged into a 220v outlet, is there a fuse that can be replaced?

hi. I had the same problem and to fix it you need to take printers right-side cover off. Underneath you'll find a Power Supply Board - hidden under metal cover. Take it out and disconnect two cables from it. Now, I had to replace an fuse 125V 4A and varistor E241AD 83P on the Power Supply Board in mine HL-2140. It works fine now.

Note: I could not find the exact replacements in electronic store so I used:

- fuse: 250V 4A

- varistor: FNR 10K241 (241 is the important number)

Hope it helps.

Hello.
If you have multimeter available you can actually check if voltage present at the end of your power cord first.
If it's OK than you have to remove back cover from your TV and locate power supply board. It's very easy - it should be next to the power cord receptacle. First look for capacitors that have bulged tops instead of flat ones. If you locate any - replace them and check if it's going to take care of problem.
Right next to receptacle connection is fuse located and you have to check if it's open. Replace it if needed. If new fuse got blown right away - you have short in power supply board. If fuse is OK - connect power cord and using multimeter try to figure out if 5V is supplied from Power supply board to the main board (the one that have all inputs attached to it). If 5V is present but power LED in front of the TV is still dead - you could have problem with main board.
Best regards.
Russ.

Panasonic ct-32sl13g blowing fuse by power supply

You will need to remove the back of the TV. Don't worry, it's not that bad.

There are 4 screws across the top, one on each side, one right next to where the power cord goes into the back of the case, and the two more by all of the video connections **These are the most important to remove because they attach the main board to the back of the case.

Once you have remove the screws then the entire back of the set will slide off. If you look where the power cord attaches to the board you will see a small fuse. This is a 6.3 Amp 125 volt fuse. You can replace it with a 6.3 Amp 250 volt fuse from your local Radio Shack. A four pack costs between $3 and $5.

Make sure that you check that it works before putting it all back together. Check for any loose connection cables while you're back there. I found a few when I did this.

Good luck!
