Question about Computers & Internet
When i turn my laptop on it goes straight to the message ''the system cannot find the file specified''
You don't mention what Operating System you are using.
If its Vista, just insert the Restore CD, and afetr answering a couple of questions, the CD will ask you if you want to repair the boot file.
Select yes, and Windows Vista will do the rest for you.
If you are using Windows XP,
It appears that you have a corrupted or missing file, probably due to a bad shutdown, or an infection of some sort.
You should use your RESTORE CD, and boot from it.
Select the Repair option, and perform a CHKDSK /p command.
This command will not only check for your disk integrity but also check and replace basic files needed for your computer to start up properly.
