I have a kenmore refrigerator Not cold enough does it need

I have a sears kenmore refrigerator 106.59589990... I had a horrible repair guy come here and fix it.. Well I got a work over. Charged me $145 for a defrost timer (yeah part only NO LABOR) He had it on the receipt he gave me from Sid harveys)
Well last I know he said he took off the coil to defrost it. I went I bought the correct timer from Sears $30.00 and installed it myself. Question is fridge seems to be working but not getting cold enough could it have something to do with him taking off the coil and it needs to be recharged?? Please Help and dont say get him over again.. Im contacting AG about his fraud!

Thanks dave thats what I thought.. The fridge is cooling seems to work after a bought new defrost timer, but not quite getting cold enough. 32 degrees in freezer and 42 degrees in fridge compartment.

Also bottom coil inside freezer is starting to get frost on it again. The defrost heater does work.

PS>I know when my boss gets back I am letting him know not to use this kid or the company he works for. I know all are not crroks but I have had 2 bad repair guys so far! One charged me $150 for a cob job.

Plus I am going to file a complaint with AG. I dont mind paying the cost for the part but not $145!! when it was only $26.00!!

Hi Dave, well I took off the inside freezer panel. Frost was only 1/2 way up. Used a hair dryer on it. Plugged it back in and know we'll see. I do know that he used the wrong defrost timer on it. Should I just leave the dials mid range for know and turn them up in 24 hours? Maybe that is my problem. Maybe I jacked them too quickly!

Sorry to say this but if he did take the coil off to defrost it he had to have removed the freon.
I would call another service company and have the unit recharged. Not all repair techs are like that they give all of us bad names. Good Luck

Dave

Ice machine wont dump ice on sears kenmore side by

Ice forms are 32 degrees but ice maker don't dump till 25 degrees. Get that guy back out there. Obviously you have a bad defrost heater.

Fridge compartment is freezing

It is the part # 2315515. It is a motororized contraption that opens and closes the baffle to let the freezer air into the refrigerator. It is one part. Mine shut closed. I removed the whole thing in hopes I can do without it. It will be a trickey proposition getting the freezer temp adjusted just right enough to keep the fridge just right enough. The repair man said they are seeing alot of these right about now. They don't make em like they used to.

I have a side by side and the fridge part is not cooling enough.

Sounds like a defrost problem. Sears has a complete model number system that is confusing I know. Sears made it that way. Not sure why but look around the cold food door while open and look near bottom on the frame just above the kick plate. The number looks like this, (model No. 253.64802400 for example) Find that number and we can go from there, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Fridge not cold enough, but running it seems

Sounds like coolant is low in the system. Most fridges use a sealed system with refridgerant.
You may be able to have a sears guy or some other applicance house call repairman come and recharge it.

Also.. check that there is enough clearance around the fridge and that dust isn't clogging up the heat transfer pipes (that grid on the back.. or below the fridge) These guys need a lot of airflow to remove heat.

Installed replacement Icemaker but will not dump new ice...

Either your freezer is not cold enough or you got a defective ice maker. It needs to be 15 degrees or colder to make ice. The water may be frooze but not cold enough to close the internal thermostat inside the ice maker. If your freezer is colder that 15 degrees, take the ice maker back to Sears, you got a lemon. Good luck!, Mack
