Laser printer shuts down immediately

A laser printer that shuts itself down immediately after turning it on indicates either a loose power cable which can be fixed by pushing the power cable in properly or something internal to the printer is causing it to shut down.
If it is shutting down due to something internal, one possability is it has the wrong power going into it. a 110 volt power supply going into a 220 volt printer or the other way round change the supply or find a converter for it. Another possibility is some other component in the machine is failing such as the power regulator board or format board. If it is something internal like this. Replace the printer is really your only option unless it is still under warrantee as replacing parts in most machines nowdays is more expensive than buying a new printer.

Cannon MP600 printer shut itself down during printing operation . Pressing ON/OFF button will not turn it. I checked connections and power source. Still, no reaction.

Re: "Cannon MP600 printer shut itself down during printing operation ."

If a Canon inkjet printer is turning itself off, then problem is either control board or power unit. When this happens printer is often considered beyond repair, and in any case it must be tested by a technician to find out the problem.Repair involves testing volts out from power unit and testing components on main board.
Considering that the MP600 is quite an expensive inkjet, I suggest contacting Canon support and asking a quote on repair.

My HP Laserjet 4 will power up and print beautifully for about 5 minutes, then it shuts down - all lights go out, no fans working - nothing - dead! I have to turn the power switch off and wait several...

Have you powered-off the printer, unplugged the AC power, and used a can of compressed-air to give the printer a "blow-job" ?

A layer of dust will act as a layer of insulation, causing the printer to overheat, instead of "radiating" the heat.

Paper jam after first page prints.

Most likely something in the printer or software is set to an improper paper size. It's saying jam because it prints the first page and registers an incorret size.

Check BOTH the printer itself and the program you're printing from.

New printer does not work. get message printer busy with something else

Hey Donald hows it going, sounds like the printer is frozen up or theres a file still waiting to print thats jammed so what we are going to do is the following

press cancel on the printer itself and see if the printer will clear the printer if not,
disconnect the printer from the computer itself turn the printer off and unplug it from the wall wait a few minutes and plug it back into the wall and dont plug it into the computer just yet make sure that its fuctioning by printing out a test page from the printer itself if this works then we know its not the printer but the computer. this ushally means there is a full que or something that hasnt been printed or paused which happens here and there best thing for that would just be simply shutting down your computer waiting a minute and turn it back on and then attach the printer while its on. and see if you get the same results as you did before only this time do a test page through wordpad or notepad just put a line or two of text for testing purposes.

See what happens did we get it?

if not please let me know and I will or others will try to help the best we can in getting this issue sorted out for you.

Printer isn't functioning

While using my printer, it appeared to shut itself down. The power button did not work. I called Canon and the service rep instructed me to disconnect the power cord from both ends (from the printer and the outlet (for 5 to 10 minutes). When I reconnected the printer, the printer worked fine. The rep stated the machine will do this rather than become damaged from a power surge. Hope this helps.
