You'll need to go into service mode and do a factory reset.
To enter service mode you'll need to press these buttons on your remote in the following order:-
Standby-info-menu-mute-standby.You'll need to do it fairly quickly and be patient it doesn't always go into it first time, don't press and hold the buttons.
The service menu should appear on the screen.Use the up /down cursor to scan down to option number 12 (factory reset)and then press the right cursor wait will appear on the screen and the set will go to standby(don't worry this is normal)
Reboot the set and retune and all should be well

The problem is that the modulator output frequency of your sky box is exactly the same as for example chanel 5 on your terestrial aerial.
You need to change this number to a different one thats clear of local terestrial transmissions
1) Select the Services button on your Sky or Sky+ remote control.
2) Type in 401 [select] on your key pad and you will get to the installer menu. You cant gain access to this via the drop down menu as it is designed for the Sky Engineer to use.
Select Option 4 to configure the RF outlets on your Sky Digibox.
4) The option RF Chanel Number change this number from example 35 to 60 .
You may need to do this using other numbers 26 34 55 etc
Every time you alter the number store it then try & tune TV to sky.
Any other sets in the house connected by RF leads will require retuning for sky.
Save new settings and you should find that your RF outlet to TV works fine.

Hi, with regards the tuning in of the required station I started from the beginning again and after the digital channels had been automatically tuned in it asked if you wanted to tune in the analogue channels . I clicked on the yes button and it tuned in a number of channels and when checking through the channels I found the sky channel required from downstairs which is linked by an aerial connection.
AS Gordon Ramsey would say :------ telly tuned in DONE
