Question about GPS

I have a TOM TOM One and its not working... The screen keeps telling me to remove the memory card and then when I do that it tells me to insert it... Nothing else... Its not working... I need a reference number in order to bring it back to the shop as I am unable to locate the receipt

My tom tom go stopped working. green light is on car cigarette lighter bit and on tom tom unit but screen wont come on it stays blank. it had just fallen off windscreen onto dashboard. memory card in...


Not sure which model year you have but check for a small reset button on bottom press and hold it with a paper clip or similar. Also try holding the power button for a minute to see if it reboots, try removing the memory card first. If it starts don't insert the memory card until the unit is off. If that still does not work click on the link below which will explain the reset in detail.

The card may have become corrupted. Use a separate card reader and download any pictures from the card. Then, insert it into the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

You must have pics on the internal memory. That's what the camera is telling you. You should format the internal memory with no card in the camera. Then, insert the card and it should work properly.

format memory card with FAT16 / FAT32 then try it.
keep in mind it is supported by ur cell means some phone support upto 2 GB..

Use the camera to format the SD card not your computer. There should be a menu option to format it.

When i turn on the tom tom one


I saved the map on to my computer from the tom tom in Tom Tom Home and installed it on to a new SD card and now it working perfectly. I bought a 2mb SD card for £6.70 put it into a card reader and connected to computer and installed map and it gave me the instructions to put into device (Tom Tom) and switch on to connect then off and back into card reader to finish. Then I disconnected device which is important to do by the way put the new Sd card into Tom Tom and it is workink perfectly. I hope this help others who have problems.

Memory card


Replace the SD Card.

Unfortunately not all card makes are compatible. ie: Tesco own brand being one

Good and reliable make is KINGSTON

Put your dodgy card into a pc card ready, copy and paste the data onto the new card.

If that doesn't work then I would say you have a tempromental card reader in your SatNav and need a replacement.

This would suggest the card may be faulty. If you have a backup of the info on the card, try formatting the card and restoring the data.

Tom Tom 300 Dead-in-the-water


I had thet problem Once. I removed the SD memory card and powered the unit up then reinserted the card an it has been working fine.
