The control settings need to be adjusted for internet usage.....if they are causing internet block then remove it.

I need to reset my master key password for my dsi

the best way out of this is to go to parental conrols in system settings and when it asks "change system settings?" click yes. when it brings up the numeric keypad select i forgot, and tap i forgot again. Now you should be shown a screen with a number at the bottom, this is known as "the inquiry number", next you need to log onto this web page and enter the inquiry number you just got. next set the current date in your timzone and click reset code. And now you should be good to go with your dsi parental control free! :) Hope this helps

My son has a laptop and i forgot my parental control password and i need to rester it..can you help?

Windows XP/Reset Parental Control
If you mean the Content Advisor that MS built into IE, do this:-
Click on START - RUN and type in REGEDIT, click OK
then the Registry Editor Opens,
Search on the left pane for the following key:-

Delete an Entry named "Key" there and your parental Control is disabled..

Restart the computer and run Internet Explorer again.
Choose View and then Internet Options,
Click on the Content tab and click on Disable. When asked for a password, don't enter anything; just click on OK. This will disable Content Advisor because there's no longer a password.

I think you need to go to the settings wizard and configure the sound and video, try to do that. It must be somewhere a place to select your web cam

Dad blocked facebook with firewall netgear and parent control hel

It is time for you to turn negotiator. Sounds to me like your Dad would like you to spend some quality time doing something else. If you can get your father to compromise on how much time you can spend on the computer each day or to agree to do some other items(chores perhaps?) then perhaps he will let you do facebook for 30 minutes or an hour each day. Your dad sounds like a guy with some computer skills. Some routers will allow a program or website to be blocked for certain hours. He could set the time frame that you could get onto facebook in case you forgot the time. lots of possibilities there but the key is communication with Dad.

On my computer myspace is blocked how do i unblock it and i will be able to send mesg and would be able to get mesg from other people

If you are a home user you can either be blocked in parental controls or security settings, either way you need admin rights to change. If you're trying to do it at work, shame on you.JK. Thats set at domain level and you can't do anything

Hi, Well windows has 1st launched this service with vista..on per user basis. It was not mentioned by you do u want a solution while logged in as administrator or user. I have given answers for both of them. As per your requirement you can select. For Administrator In d 1st case make sure that you r logged in as the administrator, while following these steps:
  1. Click on start button
  2. Go to control pannel, n select parental control.
  3. A User Account Control prompt will appear asking if you would like to continue. Click on the Continue button to proceed with opening the Parental Control
The screen which opens is the control panel. From here you can apply parental controls for the whole system or even for the standard users. For creating a new acc
  • Click on the create a new user tab
  • In this screen you would type the login name for the new user account that you would like to create. We also suggest that you leave the option labeled User must set password at next logon checked so that when the user logs on for the first time they will be prompted for a new password enabling them to keep their password private.
  • When you are ready to create the user, you would click on the Create Account button to finish the creation process. You would then be brought to the Parental Controls page for that particular user. J
Just press the OK button to get back to the welcome screen. Now from here you can keep the parental control setting as per your requirement on the following Global game rating systems setting, Family Safety Options, Activity Report Reminder, Web Restrictions Page etc
Now if you are a user/ domain and want to put up parental settings follow these steps;
  • Open the Run dialog box.
  • Type gpedit.msc and click OK
  • When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue.
  • The Group Policy Object Editor window will appear.
  • Under Local Computer Policy, expand Computer Configuration.
  • Expand Administrative Templates.
  • Expand Windows Components.
  • Select Parental Controls.
  • In the right pane, right-click Make Parental Controls control panel visible on a Domain.

I have an iMac. I want to put parental controls on my daughter's account. I have set up my daughter's account and cannot access Safari from that account

I take it that you have set up the account within the accounts control panel and you have setup the account as managed with parental controls. Click on the account (to change it you will need to enter an administrators username and password). Once in the account click on the "Open Parental Controls) Click on the account and from there you can under system determine which applications your daughter can use. Under content you can restrict what websites she can use. and the other items are fairly self explanatory. The logs can allow you to check what websites have been accessed. Hope this helps.
