Question about RCA HD52W58 52" TV
When I turn the power on the light comes on and turns off three times and does not come on. It doesn't matter if I use a remote or the power button on the tv set
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Same problem. It would TRY to come on 3 times, but nothing.
Mine was the Capacitor (cp150) that others talk about down in some of the other postings. I replaced the capacitor (man, what a pain it was taking apart all those plugs, etc) but that was the problem. I upgraded to a 35v 2200uF because radio shack didn't carry the 16v 2200uF.
It took me about 2 hours to complete this task of unscrewing the 20 screws (star-head screws, btw) on the back of the unit, unplugging about 10 connections inside, just to get the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) to twist out so that I could get to the capacitor and do the soldering. I suggest that if you use the radio shack replacement that you locate some type of insulation (black high quality electrical tape will do in a pinch) to put around the leads, because the capacitors look different than the one that you take out and the size is a little bigger and you have to leave the leads longer because it goes in sideways and you don't want them touching the metal [_] piece later on and shorting out.
I'm a novice at this fixing my own stuff game and this is only my second attempt and thus far, thanks to THIS WEBSITE, those who I have followed the advice of has worked. This was much more difficult than the monitor that I repaired 6 weeks ago. Saved me $250 for a new one.
Fortunately, on this model TV, all of the plugs/ribbons that you have to undo to get the PCB to twist out, all only have only one place that they will fit back together in.
The only reason for my post is to tell you that if a city cop with very little basic understanding of circuitry can do it, you might can as well. The capacitor costs $4.89 and it took me about 2 hours total from the time I turned the TV around to work on it, until the time I set it back around and turn it on. I've no idea what a TV Repairman charges per hour, but for two hours of work, it would've been a healthy fee + the markup on that capacitor.
I have no idea what a flyback is but it costs $60 at that website that they advertise in other postings. I tried the capacitor because: A) it was a cheaper fix, and B) I felt like my unit was getting power because the green light would come on in front. Good Luck! -Tim (30117)
