Question about Carrier Heating & Cooling

I have a CARRIER 51AKP260H. It is shutting off every three hours with the error code 'H8', meaning the condensation pan is full. It is not particularily humid... nor is the pan full. What's wrong with the machine and what do I do to fix it?

As you know, when the water tank is full, LCD displays error code H8 and the unit stops.

Under normal conditions you need to empty the water tank and to stop the unit for 3 minutes.
Plug out the power cord before empty the water tank.

Ensure that you unplugget the unit (ur trip circuit breaker) , or the error message won't reset.

If you already did unplug the unit, and you still get the error , then the water level sensor located in the water tank is faulty and must be replaced.
In this case you will need to contact manufacturer, calling the number listed on the owners manual.

Hello, sounds like a blocked drain line or cracked condensate pan. Try cleaning the drain line first with a wet/dry vac at the outlet of the 3/4 inch pvc line, if this does not help you will need to have the drain pan repaired or replaced.

The drain pan under my unit in the attic is full of water. does this mean the main condensation drain is not working?

Yes!! You need to blow out the drain... usually it is the trap that clogs...

I have a direct vent hi efficiency furnace. All


Check the condensate pump if it is full of water and does not come on that will shut the unit down. And might need a new pump. high efficiency furnaces condensate to squeeze the last amount of heat out of the unit. Seen this problem before. But not being there is a little chance that, that is the problem. let me know and we can go from there. okay ken

p2 means the bottom pan is full, you need to drain the bottom, small valve on the back bottom in the middle

the e2 error on your thermostat is a problem with the return temp sensor on your system, the only thing you can really do is call a company and replace it, you can't bypass it or remove it cause the system wont run properly

have you unplug your a/c unit,this will reprogram back to normal,have your drain basin clean so it will not stored drip water.clean filter evaporator if you have time and know cleaning maintenance of your a/c,it need to be clean specially evaporator fin tube and condenser fin tube,or have it qualified
