I wrote about the "lens error" on my daughter's L11 problem back in January. Today I did some further investigating...some guy said he just fidgeted with it a bit and fixed it. I did the same! It works and was sooooo simple. I first popped off the thin, circular lens cover with a thin paring knife, then i just grabbed the top cylindar of the telescoping (but stuck crooked) lens and wiggled it a little toward where it should have been and it popped back into place. The lens cover was easy to snap back on and all was well! See solution #4 from ETonyR posted on Jan 26. I hope those of you with the L11 problem have luck with this!
oops sorry for double post, I didn't think the first one went through and don't see how to edit to delete one.

Unfortunately, I dropped my Nikon 5700 which resulted in the camera lens being stuck in the out position. Now camera lens will not retract and camera indicates lens error. Although camera is an older model, I am willing to pay for it to be repaired because dollar-for-dollar it still takes better quality photos than the average point and shoot camera.
Same problem happened with mine. It was working just fine until my battery ran out and the lens was out. I tried new batteries in it and it'll turn on saying "Lens Error". I cant get the lens to go down and it wont take pictures. I never dropped it or never had it near water..so are there replacement parts?

it was working perfectly fine then then lens thing wont go back in or let me take pictures it jus says lens error
Same problem here, and the usual 'guy' solutions of nudging the lens
and then banging the camera hard didn't help. I suspect the real
solution is a Canon EOS ... I've always been knocked out by the Nikon
optics but when the rest of the camera doesn't keep up ... well, I
guess there's a reason everybody around has a Canon.
