Going by the short description of the problem, the reasons for this problem may include but not limited to:

    1) A faulty power supply unit,

    2) A defective power switch in the front panel,

    3) Some connecting cables might be loose on the motherboard,

    4) Some short circuit on the motherboard or the motherboard is touching the cabinet and thus getting shorted,

    5) Some hardware component has malfunctioned or the motherboard is blown.

Please provide more details of the problem so that we can assist you better.

So it looks like the power supply is faulty or the motherboard is dead. If you can check with another similar working power supply, then you can rule out power supply malfunction. Also, look for any burnt parts on the motherboard.

Since you have eliminated all components as the cause for the system not booting, there may be a desktop board short. To check this remove the motherboard from the chassis and place it on an anti-static mat or foam pad. Install/connect the minimum required components (processor, memory, power supply, video). Try powering it up. If this doesn't help, the motherboard is blown and needs to be repaired/replaced.

Hope this solves your problem. All the best. Thanks.

Computer poewer keeps turning on and off wotn stay on

Sounds like the system is overheating, then shuts down. The easiest thing to try first is blow out the case of any dust/debris. Pop the case cover and use an air can to clean out the dust. Be sure to go over any heat sinks on the CPU and video card, fans, inside the power supply, and anywhere you see a collection of dust. Then put the case cover back on and power up the unit. If the problem does not go away then you most likely have a component failing, i.e. motherboard, power supply, video card, etc... At that point I would take it to a professional.

I have a emachine that powers ou, power pack fan, cpu fan but not the hardrive. It shut down and now won't start up. No beeps

Unplug from AC, open the case, clean if necessary, reseat the memory mods, use Electronic Contact Cleaner spray on contacts, plug in, push the on/off button. Does it begin to start, and in a few seconds completly shuts down? No LED's , no fans, nothing? Sounds like a PSU failure. Mine went out in 6 years.

Won't start but CPU fan vibrates but will not go full blast. Intermittant

It appears you have a faulty CPU fan and it is causing the CPU to overheat and shut down.
I suggest you replace the CPU fan. remove any dust from the heatsink and put new heatsink compound on the CPU/heatsink.

Toshiba A135-S4527 starts to power up then shuts down.

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

My Python will start the truck and it will run for around 20-3- seconds then shut down. Then start back up then shut back down. It does this three or so time and then stops. What can I do? I have a 2000...

it sounds like the tach needs to be relearned.....if it's still connected. find your valet button, start the truck with the key, then push the valet button down for at least five seconds, the led should light up solid if the tach is learned, once the led lights up you can release the valet button and turn off the truck. it should remote start fine. hope that helps

We were given a Gateway EL500S computer to use for our kids. We set everything up. We did try to install an ethernet card. When we turned it on, nothing happened. The light comes on the ''on'' button but...

when you say no fan you mean the cpu fan or the case fan. the cpu fan is on top the cpu. make sure that at least this starts. if it does not start then shut down your pc immediately as it can burn the cpu.
it could be lots of reasons, but make sure that you have connected the power supply cables correctly to the motherboard. probably the motherboard may have a small led. check if that lights up. it means that power gets to the motherboard.
i would advice to find someone that has more knowledge.

Computer shuts down problem

When you take the cover off and start up, are all of the fans spinning? If the CPU fan doesn't spin, the system will shut down soon after starting to prevent over heating the CPU

The laptop doesnt start up. cooling fan is brocken. thermal oil is old and almost dry and little

Sometimes depending on the version of BIOS there is a thermal shut down feature,If the CPU gets to hot it will shut the entire system down. What you can do is replace the CPU fan and apply more grease in between the heat sink and the CPU chip.If this does not solve your problem then you may have damaged the CPU.the best way to fix this is to replace the motherboard and CPU.Try replacing the fan first because if your computer has the thermal shut down feature then chances are that it protected the motherboard and CPU from any damage.Try the simple things first! GOOD LUCK.
